hi ecd , mikka blessed and justme

  7. eastcoastdeb says:

Hi Chlry. It’s a slow Sunday. LOL

  8. chlry says:

i know ecd , where is steph & scrama eyes and eoar , i haven’t seen them in awhile

  9. eastcoastdeb says:

Steph was here Friday. I’m not sure about Scrama. She may have briefly dropped in but I haven’t seen Eoar or Eyes in a while.

  10. chlry says:

ty ecd , well i guess everyone has stuff going on in their life and are busy

  11. eastcoastdeb says:

Yeah, Chlry, everyone is likely getting caught up on stuff they couldn’t do while they worked all week.

  12. chlry says:

yep , i guess i should be doing that too lol , but it’s a warm day down here finally and i’m just in the mood to be lazy lol

  13. eastcoastdeb says:

Actually, it’s pretty warm here too. The cats are all out

  14. chlry says:

ecd when you say warm , how warm lol , b/c warm to me is 70 degrees , anything lower and i have the chills

  15. eastcoastdeb says:

    0 degrees, Chlry. LOL

  16. eastcoastdeb says:

    That’s celcius so I guess it’s 32 degrees.

  17. chlry says:

32 is cold ecd , but your right , that’s warm for up where you are from this time of year

  18. eastcoastdeb says:

Yeah, that’s when we get snow. It’s been snowing lightly for the last couple of days. Before last weeks storm it was freezing for the entire week.

  19. chlry says:

well , enjoy the warmth up there while it lasts , at least the cats will lol

  20. eastcoastdeb says:

We’ll likely get a few more storms in March and the snow will start melting in April. I’ll be able to get out to my garden. I can’t wait.

  21. chlry says:

that will be great ecd , i remember how beautiful your garden was last spring and summer in the pictures . i’ll have to do some gardening soon myself here , just have to make sure we don’t go freezing at night anymore first , i lost so many plants b/c of the cold weather down here . i think i’ll wait until april , just to be save

  22. eastcoastdeb says:

It must be difficult to choose plants when the weather can be so warm and then drop down. I just chose anything hardy. I only started that garden three years ago and just keep adding to it every year. A lot of the plants are wild. The birds love it.

  23. chlry says:

the major loss is my shrubs like ixora all along my front and back , they don’t look like they will be coming back . some hibiscus and croton , some look ok , but others dead . i guess i can look at it like a new start and add some new plants , and hardy like you say

  24. eastcoastdeb says:

Check the roots before you throw them away. If they have a bit of green when they’re cut, they may have some life in them. If they are dry and brittle, they are probably dead.

  25. chlry says:

yeah , some are dry and brittle and i don’t see any little spuds coming out like i do on others , but i’ll make sure i check the roots , ty

  26. eastcoastdeb says:

Google them too, Chlry. I’m not familiar with a lot of plants that grow in warmer climates so I don’t know how hardy they are. If they are on the north side of the house, they may be done, but some on the southern side may have been protected better.

    Thank you Maze

East…if you are here, have you heard about Andrew Koeing?

  29. maze says:

    some drew news

In the middle of the prosecution’s closing arguments in a landmark hearsay hearing last week, two of Drew Peterson’s attorneys glanced sideways at each other and tried to suppress small smiles.

The judge had just signaled a potential problem with the state’s case, and everyone in the courtroom knew it.

In order to have Stacy Peterson’s alleged statements about her husband’s involvement in his third wife’s death admitted at trial, the prosecution must show, among other things, that Drew Peterson killed Stacy to prevent her from testifying in a legal proceeding.

Will County Assistant State’s Attorney John Connor accused Peterson of murdering Stacy in October 2007 to avoid a financially devastating divorce. However, Stacy had not actually filed for divorce — a fact critical enough to the prosecution’s burden of proof that Judge Stephen White interrupted closing arguments to point it out.

“There was no (divorce) case,” White told Connor. “You must show that’s the intent to silence her.”

Connor argued that Peterson wanted to kill Stacy, his fourth and much younger wife, before she could file for divorce and make his life difficult, like third wife Kathleen Savio had. Prosecutors have painted Peterson as a violent man who would have done anything to protect his police pension — a claim they supported with dozens of witnesses.

“His life was going to get a lot more difficult if she filed for divorce,” Connor argued.

    White shook his head.

The judge will not make his decision public until after Peterson’s jury is selected later this year. Outside the courtroom, however, the former Bolingbrook cop’s attorneys jubilantly predicted a ruling in their favor. “If this case goes to trial, it will be without this ridiculous hearsay,” defense attorney Joel Brodsky said.

Peterson, 56, is charged with killing Savio in March 2004 amid a bitter property and custody battle. Her death was declared accidental, but the case was reopened and ruled a homicide after Stacy vanished in 2007.

He has not been charged in Stacy Peterson’s disappearance, though prosecutors have publicly accused him of killing her. Peterson denies wrongdoing.

In their largely circumstantial case, prosecutors are relying on a new Illinois statute, dubbed “Drew’s Law,” that allows them to build their case around comments made by Stacy Peterson and Kathleen Savio. They argue the hearsay statements would allow both women to speak from the grave.

The state’s attorney’s office considers Stacy’s alleged statements about Peterson’s involvement in Savio’s case critical because she provided his alibi after Savio was found drowned in her bathtub. Several witnesses, including her pastor, testified that Stacy told them she covered for him with the police.

In an effort to address the judge’s concerns about the nonexistent divorce proceeding, State’s Attorney James Glasgow told White if the troubled marriage wasn’t impetus enough for Peterson to kill Stacy, the fear she would tell police about his deadly secret was.

“Let the divorce go,” Glasgow said during rebuttal. “This (case) is the one” with the intent to silence.

If White decides the preponderance of evidence does not show Peterson killed Stacy to silence her in a legal proceeding, witnesses including the pastor, a classmate and a potential boyfriend could be barred from testifying.

  30. stephanie says:

Thank you Maze…I hate to see this sack of sh*t get away with murdering his wives.

  31. eastcoastdeb says:

No Steph, I haven’t heard about the case but just googled it. He’s been missing from Vancouver since February 14 and was depressed. What a shame.

  32. stephanie says:

Hi East…Thank you. It is a shame. Like I have told you so many times before…I don’t know how a family makes it when they don’t know where their child is. Like Keese’s parents…It has to be a NEVER ending nightmare.

  33. eastcoastdeb says:

So he’s been missing about six days. Do they think foul play or suicide?

  34. eastcoastdeb says:

And another thing, it makes me sick that that law is named after a GD murdering b*st*rd. It should be named after Christine (I think that’s her name) or Stacey. That egomaniac doesn’t need one more thing to swell that ugly head of his.

  35. stephanie says:

I don’t know East…I am hoping he is just so depressed he is hiding out some where and they find him.

You have to tell me which law…I don’t know it

  36. stephanie says:

Doesn’t he just make you sick to even look at him…He makes me want to hurl.

  37. eastcoastdeb says:

The “Drew Law” about using hearsay. I’ve heard it before but Maze mentioned it above also,

  38. stephanie says:

Do you think maybe they should go ahead and let a mistrial happen so they can come back and try him again? I don’t remember but was thinking he was charged also with Stacey’s murder. With this is would be better for them to prove Stacey’s first. Unless of course they were going to also use that he killed her to keep her quiet about the wife before. I wouldn’t think they needed that…

  39. stephanie says:

Thank you…I remember that and wasn’t even thinking when I read it.
I get so confused on some of the hear say laws..Like when they have the trial against Casey…there will be a lot of hearsay. But there is so much that is allowed…then all of a sudden something isn’t allowed.

  40. eastcoastdeb says:

I think they need Kathleen’s (not Christine’s) case to go forward cuz they have a body and a definite death. I think it lays the groundwork for his propensitiy to get rid of ‘pesky’ women. Then on the other hand, there are the witnesses for Stacey. Too bad they couldn’t be tried together to show a pattern and similarities with this freak

  41. stephanie says:

I just hope if this is thrown out that they don’t find him not guilty…they will never be able to try him again. But, I also haven’t kept up with it enough to really know what is going on

  42. stephanie says:

I just know there are certain people that you just look at and they make you sick…The thought of being anywhere close to them is just sickening. In many ways I don’t understand what these girls had seen in him. But, then again I do at least maybe from their perspective…they saw someone they felt was strong and would take care of them…protect them.

  43. eastcoastdeb says:

I wish I could say I don’t know much about American Law, but the truth is I don’t know much about law-period. I don’t know how people like him, Phil Specter, and Cindy just don’t get the p*ss pounded out of them. If we feel the way we do, you can bet the general public does also. I’m sure cops hate him, civilians hate him, and the prisoners are bound to. Hopefully someone will scare that arrogant grin right of his nasty face.

  44. stephanie says:

I agree…Do you know if he is in protective custody…I don’t know why he would be. Just seems lately everyone is.
I also am still surprised that nobody has just hauled off and knocked the sh*t out of Cindy…This really surprises me

  45. eastcoastdeb says:

He likely is cuz he’s a cop, Steph. Too bad, so sad. I agree regarding Cindy. I don’t know how anyone could be toe to toe with her without grabbing her by the hair and pounding her face into a nearby car. I know if it were me, that car would be a write-off.

  46. eastcoastdeb says:

Humble should do a blog on things we’d like to do to Cindy. Man oh man would the comments ever rack up. LOLOLOL

  47. stephanie says:

I agree East…that would be a great blog, lol

  48. stephanie says:

It is sad that these people that have murdered those they were to protect are than placed in protective custody..Who was protecting the children and wives?
Even after trial may of them live in protective custody…

  49. stephanie says:

    Are you working tomorrow

  50. Hi everyone!

That would be fun ECDeb, but the comments would have to be deleted…….

  51. eastcoastdeb says:

Cops shouldn’t have more protection. They swore to protect and if they don’t they should be subject to the same laws that apply to others. The same goes for mothers too.
I think too many cops in Bolingbrook allowed their suspicions to be muted. They had to know something. This guy couldn’t stop bragging. They knew how chauvinistic he was.

  52. stephanie says:

    Again I agree East

  53. eastcoastdeb says:

I know Humble, we’d end up on the defense’s witness list for death threats against the Anthony family

  54. stephanie says:

I hate to go but took some pills, lol. Hope to see you all for coffee in the early morning. I think Chap might come by..I think she wanted to talk about the doll and other things that had just come out.

Have a good evening and I will see you tomorrow

  55. eastcoastdeb says:

See you later Steph. Have a good evening and see you tomorrow.

  56. eastcoastdeb says:

Just saw your comment Steph. No I’m not working tomorrow.

  57. Hi ya Steph!

ECDeb, hi ya! Yes, then we would have to fake cry and all that other stuff the a’s do in the court room! PLUS LIE! :wink

  58. What is going on tomorrow?

  59. bbl……………I am tired!

  60. eastcoastdeb says:

Rest well Humble and see you tomorrow. I’m leaving to get some stuff done also.

  61. stephanie says:
