Ten discs containing information that could be used in Casey Anthony’s trial were released Wednesday morning. All of the files require proprietary software and only some of the files would open for WFTV. Sources told WFTV that the State Attorney’s Office and the defense had similar problems actually accessing the files.

The files that did open are charts that would require an expert to decipher (see an example). In addition to problems with the files, the files that did open lack any labeling that would explain who the charts relate to, for instance Casey or Lee.
They better be plugging that software in those computers!

Perhaps the DUH-fence is not the only entity ‘playing games’ in this saga. Looks like the state might be driving the DUH-fence a bit c.r.a.z.i.e.r by releasing documents that are in c.o.d.e. (tee hee) COULDN’T HAPPEN TO A BETTER BUNCH OF LOSERS!
This is frustrating for us because “we want to know” but it makes it more palatable to know that the evidence is not legible or understandable by the DUH-fence either. (Cindy’s brother), Cindy initiated the divorce… George smartened up and got himself a lawyer… Once Cindy found out George could get 1/2 of proceeds of HER house, she reconsidered and they reconciled. I believe Shirley P. (Cindy’s mother) may have mentioned this also in one of her e-mails.
Your eye-sight did not betray you. For whatever reason, George’s name did appear on file as the Petitioner.

The state’s release of DNA results today in the Casey Anthony case wasn’t that big a deal, TV reporters seemed to agree on noon newscasts. That development undoubtedly was a letdown for anyone following the case closely.
“We’ve already reported on the FBI lab’s take on this DNA evidence, which does not show Casey’s DNA on any of the evidence recovered from the scene where her daughter body’s was dumped and later found in December 2008,” WKMG-Channel 6’s Tony Pipitone said.
Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. The murder trial is set to start in May 2011.
There was nothing new in the discovery, Pipitone stressed. “Bottom line: This is just one more piece of a puzzle that both sides will try to assemble in a way that benefits their side as they prepare for a trial,” Pipitone said.
“No big deal,” Pipitone summed up. But the story led WKMG’s noon newscast.
The story was also at the top of WESH-Channel 2’snoon newscast. WESH’s Bob Kealing held up discs and noted that some material required special software to open.
The latest in the Anthony case was challenge for reporters: The released material was extremely difficult to explain.
As WFTV-Channel 9anchor Vanessa Echols put it: “Ten discs of evidence were just released in the case. The discs contain DNA evidence, but some of them couldn’t be opened or copied onto our Web site. The discs did not list whose DNA charts were included in the evidence, so without knowing whose chart it is, there’s no way to decipher what they mean.”
But WKMG’s Pipitone provided some clarity.

Thanks, Smoke. I thought that is how I read it, George filed. Maybe Cindy told Rick and her mother the other way around to save face. Wouldn’t be surprised. Hard to believe that the public record would stand, if it was incorrect.
Frustrating… Maybe what would make these new docs make any sense, ie explanation etc., is part of what the judge has agreed to withold…just a thought…
