Andrea “cryin” Lyon, leaves the notorious Casey d-team

SOOOOO, another attorney leaves the defense team of Casey!  Paperwork was filed today with the clerk of court!  According to reports, Lyon has spent over $22,500 of her own money on this case.  She claims it is only a 1/3 of what she has paid.

We all know Lyon is big on getting the death penalty removed from murder trials, and it looks like she has failed in this case.

Baez said:  We’re sad to see her leave, but we completely understand that it’s a fiscal reason.  Of course we know that Baez made sure he got a cut of the $225,000 + money that was in the Casey fund.

I wonder who they will get now???

  3. Hi ya Maze…they get Mason…wanna be Perry Mason!!!!

  4. Baez said that the travel involved with this case and time spent away from her center forced Lyon to leave the team. She needs to focus on that project and help generate revenue there, he said.

Much of her death penalty-related arguments have been filed in motions.

“A good chunk of the work she was doing was completed,” Baez said. He added that Mason “has taken on a lot of her responsibilities.”

  5. Colhere says:

Chalk one up for me!! (I predicted this several weeks back). Lyon has been stepping back since C. Mason jumped on board. I noted that there was some friction there.. you could cut it with a knife. She was disappointed in how it was going..

  6. debwv says:

I believe she told Bozo a long time ago to seek another DP Laywer.Thats where Mason came in.She knew there were no way she could win this case, and wanted out!

  7. Suzie Jane says:

Now WF ruined the reputation of another attorney. She’s like King Midas in reverse.

So much for that perfect DP record. Waaaaaaahhhhhh!!!! Oh, hahahahahahaha

  8. Hi ya Col….well Congrats! I forsure she wouldn’t leave until she made a name for herself. Now she looks like a quitter!

Deb, not sure Mason will get the dp removed either!

  9. debwv says:

I don’t think so either Humble. But Cryin’ Lyons wanted out,it was hurting your records. LOL

  10. Suzie Jane says:

    Hi ya Humble! :w00t:

  11. Deb, it was hurting her record. I would have to say she “FAILED”!

    Hi Suzie……..

  12. Suzie Jane says:

This is just such wonderful news. Seems like every time ya think it just can’t get any better….

  13. Well, i would like to hear Bozo quit. Then this case could move on. he is such a staller. BUT loves the publicity!

  14. Suzie Jane says:

Humble – I was lurking around today (surprise) and read in more than one spot that George cut Caylee’s umbilical cord in the delivery room???? :w00t:

    Is this true?

  15. muesli says:

Yeah, I found the video of the hearing where Cindy see Andrea Lyon for the first time. Watch Cindy closely. Enjoy.

    http://www.wftv.com/video/19590215/index.html

By the way, this was May 28, 2009

It is the first few minutes of the hearing! ~humble

  16. i can see it now, bozo inthe headlines: Jose Baez, LOSER attorney for the Casey team………………… :w00t:

  17. Thanks Muesli…going to watch it now!

  18. Muesli…you can tell Cindy wasn’t happy!

  19. Suzie, I have no clue, I am not sure if George ever said that out loud…

  20. OK, I have to go! BBL…………………………

@molly – TY, also I am thinking that Lyons is probably a bit embarassed by the grandstand.. for instance..

if you are a master carpenter and are hired by an idiot to help build a house who makes all the decisions, makes the same mistakes over and over, yet brags to everyone how great he is.. yet anything good that has transpired has been due to your own good work, which is not really apparent because of the shoddy mess that the ‘leader’ has done around it.. no one notices your really good work.. they only notice all the crap and it reflects on you.. I could only stand to do that for a while, and certainly not for free.

THEN being apparent to the world that the ‘idiot’ has pocketed the “Lion’s” share of 120K. Let’s face it, the only reason she is there because of principle and that is (pardon the expression) very big of her (despite what we often say of her)..

She’ll lose patience soon.. She likely already has and that is why Mason is now in the picture.. He is ultimately her replacement. Either she has had her share of infighting with the idiot or has decided to back away gradually and not bother.. like, what can you teach Baez, who is someone with the IQ of a good piece of lumber?

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    Colhere’s Prediction. You Rock!

  22. muesli says:

Now, how did Colhere know this back in April. I didn’t see it coming. Very observant, Colhere. Good job.

  23. Colhere says:

    Hey! Yeah, that was it!

  24. quarterhorse_trainer says:

    Humble… I saw the photo… I wonder why everyone wants to “mother” Casey? I think I know….

  25. quarterhorse_trainer says:

Another comment I want to make is that in reading all the C & G letters to Casey, at first I was extremely angry… But now I’ve kind of figured out that Baez has probably instructed C & G to write these letter of undying love & support and all the other gushy stuff like “Hey Beautiful” “Hey Gorgeous” ect. because that’s what he wants “us” to see. And the one regarding ruining everyone’s lives… Casey’s defense (I believe) is going to focus on Cindy & George (throwing them totally under the bus) I think that’s what he was referring to. I think that the defense is going to make Cindy & George the scapegoat of this murder and bring horrible alligations against them. That’s why Casey will not see them, she know that they’re going to be totally “blaimed” and Casey cannot face C & G b/c she DID kill Caylee and she cannot look them in the face…. IMO

  26. Suzie Jane says:

Muesli – you owe me 29:43 minutes of my life I just spent watching that video!

Actually, I appreciate the refresher course. My goodness, poor Stricky was really not up to this case. I hope he is enjoying the heck out of his retirement., Got out just in time.

What a difference to Judge Perry. Holy cow. At 7 minutes into that tape, the entire court room sounds like a comedy club and everyone bursts out in chuckles. Would never happen today.

Wow, murder of a 2 year old. Hysterical.

  27. ss says:

    Hi Everyone!

WFTV Legal Analyst Bill Sheaffer said….

If Lyon was a true believer in Anthony, she would have made it work.

    http://www.wftv.com/news/24102408/detail.html

    Have a good night!

  28. debwv says:

Now I’m wondering when LKB leave? I’m thinking Cryin’ Lyon might had just joined Scream Team,to premote her book.If she truly thinks Mother of the year is innocent, she would remain on the team to the end!

  29. muesli says:

Suzi Jane, sorry bout that. But, I never forgot Cindy’s first reaction to Ms. Lyon. And, if you notice, just before her reaction, she made eye contact with the camera, so she knew that she was on camera.

  30. Muesli…Suzie watched the whole thing? :w00t: Seems the best reaction was the first minute of the video!

  31. SS, thanks! BS would know, and I guess she doesn’t believe in her. Makes me wonder, why Bozo is still the lead clown? But it is funny, I had heard that before, when an attorney leaves, they are not true believers. Seems I forgot it until you posted it!

  32. muesli says:

I just read somewhere that the some court date was postponed because of Ms. Lyon’s daughter’s graduation. Does anyone remember which date was postponed?

  33. muesli says:

Humble, poor Suzi Jane. I only meant for anyone to watch the beginning for Cindy’s reaction. I will post more clearly in the future. Poor, poor Suzi Jane, I feel your pain. Never meant to make you suffer so.

  34. Muesli, I can’t remember!

  35. Muesli, I will add it to your comment to watch the first few minutes….

  36. Diana says:

Cindy sizing Andrea up was nauseating. Must not have been a “10″ in her eyes.

  37. Hi Diana! I your right…she couldn’t like LKB either! Neither match up to “10″ Casey, but she want’s far behind in size!

  38. Muesli, I guess I not delete the calendars from the calendar page anymore, just in case we need a memory refresh on the cancelled hearings!

  39. Suzie Jane says:

Thank you Humble for sparing the others the cerebral damage I’m sure I endured. Muesli – you little son of a gun – that’s not the first time this has happened.

  40. Honestly, I do not believe that Lyon just couldn’t afford the flights, the money, etc. I also believe that Lyon has made a bad name for herself, especially with the world knowing she tries to get murderers off with life in prison. I believe and will always say that if they have killed a child, they deserve the death penalty!

  41. Suzie, I am passing you a drink! :w00t: I know you need it, I only watch a minute of the video and had 2 drinks!

  42. watchestrainwreck says:

This way she retains her perfect record. She didn’t take this one of trial – someone else will. (Who knows who it will be when that time finally comes).

I’ve been on vacation. Looks like I’ve got some reading to catch up on tomorrow.

  43. muesli says:

I’m tired. I’ll try to find that graduation postponement thing tomorrow. Good night to you all. See ya for coffee around 6 a.m. EST. Sleep well, may the lovely angels watch over you.

  44. Suzie Jane says:

Humble, you’re right. Has anyone ever checked what crimes were committed by the convicts studied in her book?

How many baby killers lives has she saved from the DP? Any one?

  45. Hi ya Watches, good to see you! Good call, but she still has failed. She wanted to make the big time, and all she got was dislike from people.

  46. Suzie Jane says:

Nite Muesli  See ya tomorrow

  47. Suzie, I believe a few, but not sure.

See you tomorrow..,I am exhausted!

  48. Suzie Jane says:

Humble – thank you for the drink – big time! :sideways:

  49. Suzie Jane says:

Good night Humble – sleep tight – me too

  50. muesli says:

Last thought for the night. Remind me tomorrow to look into how much of this case has been delayed for the convenience of Ms. Lyon, i.e., teaching schedules last year, even changing the date of a DP trial to accommodate Ms. Lyon to be able to attend her daughter’s graduation. Hopefully, Judge Perry will put a stop to all this defense nonsense and get on with following the letter of the law. Now, I am off to sleep. Really.

  51. muesli says:

Last, last thought. Does anyone know anything further on the Anthony foreclosure. If they have found a way around it, maybe we could pass their plan on to those poor hardworking people who are also facing foreclosure. Definitely leaving now.

  52. Molly says:

Muesli, humble – I think the original court date was May 5th, only postponed for a week or so later. maybe they’ll move it up now.

  53. nannab says:

Hi everyone.. not surprised..but wow.. she won’t be the last one to fade into the sunset… we have another year..at least..to go..

  54. Molly says:

“I think mason was sought out because the money train stopped & lyon was not going to keep flying back & forth for all of these court dates. Baez fumbles every time in court & knew he needed someone by his side in court.”

wow! I just wrote this on niecey’s site yesterday about lyon!!

  55. Hadley says:

Lyon accomplished what she set out to do…she got to advertise her book…Angel??? of Death Row. She’s a wheeler dealer!

  56. Brad 'shopping cart' Conway says:

Aww Linebacker Lyon will no longer be spewing her filth and lies. How will we ever get by?? Ole shamoo can now go back to her precious teaching schedule and her creepy worthless ‘students’. No Depaul Law School for Casey now, huh?? Wonder how WF is taking the news? Get your arm ready casey that needle is headed your way!

  57. Carol says:

G M All! This is GREAT news!! I’m thrilled! They’re dropping like flys now, LKB is next to go. She’s not going to pay her own way or fly second class, ever.
Brad, so do you think old Linebacker Lyon is going to fill in on the Bears defense this year? At least that may be something she could win at!

  58. muesli says:

Good morning all. After reading through the other blogs, it seems most people feel the same about Ms. Lyons jumping ship. She, like the other attorneys, offered to work this case pro bono, until Biaz found a way through Casey selling Caylee’s pictures to generate money. How honorable to announce you will be working pro bono. How reality sets in when the windfall money disappears and your client is truly indigent. Who’s next? If Cheney should jump ship for any reason, the defense will be up sheet’s creek. Biaz said that he was taking over the responsibilities of Ms. Lyon as the DP attorney. Mrs. Baden seems to have disappeared into the woodwork. Where is she, and what is her real responsibility in this defense? I know she is involved in the forensics, but to what extent is her involvement and her position on the defense team?

  59. muesli says:

Does anyone know if Ms. Lyon has ever jumped ship before? That is one easy way to keep your record.

  60. muesli says:

You know, the only reason we can follow this case so closely is because of Florida’s Sunshine laws. Wonder which other states have Sunshine laws. I’ll go google that. For, without the openness in the release of information, it would be impossible to garner all the facts involved in a case.

  61. GM everyone! Missouri and Ohio have sunshine laws. Thank goodness FL has the sunshine law, can you see us believing the A’s when they tell their big fat juicy LIES??

  62. muesli says:

Hmmm. Seems to be different forms of Sunshine laws. The only ones actually identified as Sunshine laws are Florida, Missouri, South Dakota and Wyoming. The others have such titles as Open Records laws (mostly pertaining to government related meetings, etc.). It is more confusing than I thought. Guess I will have to bore myself reading the details. Or, maybe I won’t, and you all will forget that I even mentioned it.

  63. Hi ya Hadley! I didn’t buy her book! Did anyone here buy the book “ANGEL OF DEATH ROW: My Life as a Death Penalty Lawyer”?

Hi ya Brad! I am happy that we won’t be seeing her cryin lyin in the court room.

Hi ya Carol, it is good news! Filling up my tub to take a swim!

  64. ok, I have to go….bbl………have fun and be safe….!

  65. muesli says:

Thanks, Humble. But, did you give me that link to just further confuse me? Have to go and walk the neighbor’s dog (vacation favor), then my dog. BBL

  66. smoke&mirrors says:

    Good Morning Everyone,

Museli ~ For when you return, here is a link to the video for the CMA Court Hearing which was held on 30 April 2010:

    http://www.wftv.com/video/23319255/index.html Video Part 2 of 2 start @ 17:05 mark

Judge Perry suggested stepping up the trail date by one week (2 May 2011 vs. 9 May 2011) However, Ms. Lyon had a personal schedule conflict (i.e., her daughter’s graduation). Judge Perry agreed to let the 9 May 2011 trial date stand.

  67. muesli says:

Thanks, Smoke. I want to go back and see what was postponed last year due to Ms. Lyon’s teaching schedule. Can you imagine having a job and saying you can’t come in because you are busy with other things. I hope Judge Perry doesn’t put up with this delaying any longer. Although, I can foresee if Mr. Biaz should jump ship, along with Mr. Cheney, then a public defender would have to come in, and there would be no end to the delays, while the public defender caught up on the case (which would only be fair to the unfortunate person).

  68. muesli says:

Found this link about delaying the trial. It is a video of Mr. Shaeffer and Kathi Belich discussing the delay from the original Oct. 2009 trial date:

    http://www.wftv.com/video/19983221/index.html

The point I think is so important from Mr. Shaeffer is that Ms. Lyon knew her schedule when she came on board the defense’s team. Judge Strickland was way too wimpy with this case, and I am surprised how much the prosecution went along with all of these delaying tactics.

  69. mikka says:

    gm friends! ;smile:
    cma LOST 1 FAN!!!!
    from wftv

An Orlando woman, who wrote Casey a supportive letter before Caylee was found, told WFTV on Friday that her compassion has waned.

“If it wasn’t her, then she knows something, ‘cause you don’t wait 30 days. If my dogs were missing 30 seconds, I’d be freaking out,” Tammie Foster told WFTV.

  70. muesli says:

Hi mikka. Yes, I saw that interview with that woman. That 31 days is going to be what brings this case to a close. I am looking forward to the opening statements by the prosecution. At trial, I believe the defense’s opening statement would have to be by Mr. Cheney (if he’s still aboard), as Mr. Biaz definitely will not have first chair in this DP case. Anyone know if I am correct in these assumptions? Can you hear Mr. Cheney now…..mumble, mumble, trust me, mumble,………

  71. mikka says:

    bozo whinning about money hahhahahaahahahah,
i guess he try to say,cma dont get a fair trial, because taxpayer dont must pay lyons travel money!what an arse!

  72. muesli says:

Has anyone seen Brad Conway around recently? He wasn’t at the last hearing, an Cindy was alone with a couple of her hangers on, without his support. Maybe, like Ms. Lyon, he is tired of working pro bono. A guy’s gotta eat.

  73. mikka says:

muesli,i dont can wait either,i bet all her fans, changed her mind already about cma!
mason looks like he have alzheimer, the jury will LOL about him!

  74. mikka says:

museli, conway is tired to working for free for the ants, soon he will roll away !

  75. mikka says:

muesli, have to go,see ya later!

  76. calipam says:

This is HUGE…I doubt very much it was the amount of $ Lyons personally sunk into the case that drove her away, but like most of us she sees the writing on the wall…the Death Penalty it will be, & so well deserved…YAY!

  77. maze says:

  78. glen says:

    good morning all..
AL left because she did not want to ruin her perfect record on the death penily, jmo…she knows that Casey is guilty and there is no way the DP will come off the table..

Humble glad to see you back and how did the move go?

I have been reading alot and not much more then that.

Hope all is well and will be back later to read

  79. Justme66 says:

I brought this over from the Sentinel’s comment section…. I thought you all may need a good laugh this morning….

    Orlando_EAST at 6:21 PM June 30, 2010
    Two issues:

First I would like to thank Ms Lyon for her selfless, altruistic support for Casey. Andrea you will be missed.

Secondly, This is a VERY complicated case. Casey can not defend herself against the inexhaustible resources of the State without SIGNIFICANT financial support. Locked up in jail – she is unable to work – her income is zero – this is called “indigent.”

It is the responsibility of the State to provide funding for the necessary Lawyers, Private Investigators, Subject Matter Experts, Researchers, Analysts, Forensic experts, Anthropologists, Psychologists, lab tests and such.

    If not -> Mistrial

    HEHEHEHEHEHE…. What a loser….

  80. caroly says:

hi justme – what a hoot that last post was. As if Casey ever worked when she was not in jail and as if she would work if she were out on bail. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha rothlmao

  81. nannab says:

sheeesh… so why is the case complicated? I think it is a simple case.. We all know *who dun it already*..

  82. Molly says:

thanks just! yeah, unable to work, that’s a laugh.
I don’t see how it’s so complicated either. if she is sooooo innocent, what are they worried about? hahahahahha

  83. nannab says:

    :ninja: at work

  84. caroly says:

nannab – I don’t think the case is so complicated. I think Baez bamboozled the so called dream team with some sob story of Casey’s that he was dumb enough to believe. And $89,000 is probably more than he has received for all his other cases which have probably been done at indigent defense rates. When the others started looking into it they found the evidence against her, albeit circumstantial, was overwhelming. Once Linda KB finds the forensics are also overwhelming then I suspect she will either leave or give it minimal attentioon, leaving most of it to Baez. How would you feel if some dumb attorney got paid and you, a star attorney got nothing……

It is going to be very very difficult to get around not reporting the death of your daughter, partying while she’s missing, lying when you get caught and using an imaginary person as your alibi who nobody you know has ever seen, spoken to, telephoned or been photographed.

You are right. We know who dun it.

I do think Casey will be devastated at Lyon leaving. They seemed to have a good rapport. Casey and Mason seem indifferent to each other.

  85. debwv says:

From the start, the 31 days what got me.What mother in there right mind would not report her daughter missing and wait til 31 days. But she would have waited longer,if it hadn’t been for Spindy! That will certainly be looked at!Then came the Casey investigation to finding Caylee.A mother doesn’t go out pole dancing, sleeping with every man in the state, and stealing from her friends !

  86. nannab says:

I don’t think Mason will last til the end.. only Bozo has the endurance.. Money in the making..

  87. Brad 'shopping cart' Conway says:

So will Baez try to turn this into some reason for a mistrial or something? Will Perry move the trial date up? I agree that Strickland was WAY too lenient and accommodating to the defense. This should all be over with by now. The case is not the least bit complicated. 31 days. No nanny. No excuse.

  88. Brad 'shopping cart' Conway says:

Oh yes and does anyone know what Zam the Turtle’s reaction has been to Andrea Lyon leaving?

  89. nannab says:

Zam is too embarrassed to come out from under his shell.. he didn’t ask to be there…

  90. caroly says:

Notice how the press conferences about Casey’s innocence and no evidence and junk science have changed in tone. Even the Baez smirk seems missing most of the time. In front of judge Perry he actually looks nervous

  91. caroly says:

I wonder what is going on in Lee’s head. It is horrible to be accused of sexual abuse – probably the worst thing to have to live with. And quite honestly I do not believe Casey. Why would I? She lies about everythiing and will say anything to shift the blame. And I don’t know whether she is saying it to mitigate the death penalty or if she truly tries to shift the blame to Lee and/or George to get herself off the hook.

  92. chachi says:

Miss Lyon we will miss seeing you and kc in your matching outfits. We will miss seeing your grey roots, and we will miss seeing your fashion backward outfits. Most of all we will miss your professionalism next to your co-counsel Bozo who always act’s like a bafoon!

  93. Hi everyone!

Good to see you CaliPam…I am for sure that it didn’t break her bank of cash flow.

Hi ya Nanna, because Bozo is inexperienced….

Hi ya Brad, I don’t think Bozo can claim mistrial….it was his team member…of course Bozo thinks there is an “I” in team, that left!

Deb, your right, Sins is the one reporting…Casey never would have.

Hi Caroly…nothing has changed…no proof she didn’t kill Caylee and no proof someone else put Caylee in the woods….

Chachi… I won’t miss her one bit!

  94. Wonder who will have her on today? JVM or NG?

  95. caroly says:

I am getting so tired of the screaming and the interruptions and the constant parading of “years of sobriety” on JVM. Everyone is a psychopath or an addict. It’s as if noone could committ a crime due to anger, impulsiveness, jealousy, hatred, selfishness. Which is what I think is the motive for most of these cases where parents kill little children.

  96. Brad 'shopping cart' Conway says:

Yes caroly JVM is pretty obnoxious. I do consider her one of the good guys of course…but she really does play up the manufactured drama. She was on the air saying we should have cameras on every street corner because it will save childrens’ lives. That was an utterly nonsensical scary comment imo. She makes claims about peoples mental capacity that she really has no way of knowing. She’s a lawyer/pseudo journalist not a psychiatrist. Remember: “If you’re an addict, you’ll drink nail polish if it’s all you have!!” OMG NAIL POLISH!! lol

  97. muesli says:

Looks like Biaz is still after Kronk. He has listed Kronk’s ex-wife as a witness.

    http://www.wesh.com/news/24112886/detail.html

  98. debwv says:

I can’t wait for the trial.Listening to Bozo explain how Kronk was connected the famous Zanny the Nanny!

  99. chachi says:

Humble, we need a crying smiley face  Come to think of it, I’ll only miss her gray roots

  103. muesli says:

Wait a minute. They want to examine the evidence over a two day period, July 14 and 15. Isn’t there a motion hearing for July 15? Is this going to be another stall tactic? Why the emergency. Why wasn’t this done during the last year and a half? Are they playing games with this emergency. Something’s wrong. I smell a rat. Does this have anything to do with Ms. Lyon leaving? Wow, never a day………
