Anthony Defense Complies With Evidence Deadline
Young Mother’s Trial Set To Begin In May 2011

    POSTED: 12:01 pm EDT July 8, 2010
    UPDATED: 4:43 pm EDT July 8, 2010

ORLANDO, FlThursday of making public what evidence they want to review with their team of experts next week.

Judge Belvin Perry ordered them by noon to furnish him with lists describing what evidence they wanted to review on July 13 and 14.

In a notice of compliance filed Thursday, Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, acknowledged that he and Cheney Mason met with prosecutors on July 5 and informed them of what they want to review.

Defense attorney Richard Horsnby said the defense’s intention to file the list to the judge directly rather than through the clerk’s office is their attempt to both comply the judge’s order but also keep it out of the public eye.

“It’s a public record. Whether it’s filed with the judge or the clerk, it will still be put in the court file,” Hornsby said.

Anthony is being held on no bond at the Orange County Jail. She is charged with murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Caylee’s remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008.

Anthony maintains a nanny by the name of Zenaida Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee. Anthony’s trial is set to begin in May 2011.

  2. Hi ya Smoke…thanks! Very interesting. Guess that Baez wants us to think he is smarter than ever. Trying to pull a quick one, and I hope he gets a lashing from the Judge!

Casey’s Defense Turns In List Of Evidence
    Posted: 5:35 pm EDT July 8, 2010
    Updated: 6:15 pm EDT July 8, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. — In the case against Casey, the defense Thursday gave prosecutors and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office the list of evidence found with Caylee Anthony’s remains.

Casey’s attorneys met the judge’s deadline, which was Thursday at noon, to turn over the list. The list is public record, but the defense did not file it with the clerk and sent it to Chief Judge Belvin Perry late Thursday, while he’s on vacation.

The judge expects to release it early next week.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday, four defense experts will examine the evidence at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Casey Anthony: Evidence list goes to judge —not public

The Casey Anthony defense team filed a ‘notice of compliance’ today, saying it has indentified [sic]a list of items held as evidence that it wants to inspect.

    By Anthony Colarossi, Orlando Sentinel
    6:11 p.m. EDT, July 8, 2010

In keeping with a judicial order, the Casey Anthony defense team filed a “notice of compliance” today, saying it has indentified a list of items held as evidence that it wants to inspect.

But the list — and the items on it — have not been made public.

The list of items the defense wants to review was not available through the Clerk of Court’s office because it wasn’t filed there. Instead, an inventory was provided electronically to Chief Judge Belvin Perry.

Court officials said the defense this afternoon provided a series of Orange County Sheriff’s Office property forms via a password-protected website, but Perry has not yet had a chance to review the documents.

“Judge Perry is out of the office until Monday,” court spokeswoman Karen Levey said in a prepared statement. “He will review the material when he returns to determine if it can be distributed at that time.”

She said the property forms amount to at least 100 pages and were not formatted as a list.

Last week, Perry set a noon deadline today for the defense to provide the evidence list. Defense attorneys and their experts plan to review evidence held by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office next week.

The notice of compliance was filed shortly before 11:30 a.m. It was filed by attorneys J. Cheney Mason and Jose Baez.

The notice says the defense team met with prosecutors Monday and went through evidence property forms submitted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “The defense selected all items it wishes to inspect,” the document states.

The documents requested are not public records, a spokesman for the State Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

The prosecution and defense kept copies of the list of evidence to be inspected and “the defense is also providing a copy to this honorable court forthwith,” the notice says.

New cloak-and-dagger developments in the case against Casey Anthony,” WESH-Ch. 2 anchor Jim Payne intoned in introducing a story tonight.

Say what? It sounded like a spy novel.

“It certainly appears that the defense team is trying to keep a list of evidence that they want to look at next week out of the public eye,” WESH’s Bob Kealing said.

The defense team filed a notice of compliance instead of the list by a noon deadline today. The defense attorneys filed it with Judge Belvin Perry instead of through the clerk’s office.

Orlando defense attorney Richard Hornsby, who offers analysis for WESH, scoffed at the defense team’s strategy: “It’s public record. There is no difference between … giving something to the judge and giving something to the clerk.”

Kealing talked to a court official who agreed with Hornsby and said the list will be made public once the judge gets it.

In an update at 5 this evening, Kealing reported that a court official said the defense team e-mailed Judge Perry a link to property forms from the sheriff’s office and not an evidence list. Perry is on vacation.

“Perry’s going to have to figure out what he wants to do on this issue when he gets back in on Monday,” Kealing said.

Hornsby predicted that that the defense wants to look at Anthony’s car and the bag found with Caylee Anthony’s remains. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

  9. Even funnier:

Seems to me when the d-team needs to stall they try to pull a quick one. Hope the judge doesn’t let the d-team see anything!

I hope Mike is on vacation, and to be back soon…Vinnie needs to go!

  10. mikka says:

ooohh i see trouble for bozo!

    see ya later!

  12. Mikka, this is how the d-team rolls. They are not smart enough to follow the rules, and then link to the wrong file…oh goody, may the judge call an emergency Bozo slapping hearing!

  13. Carol says:

Thank you Smoke for those links. I read that today that bozo got this secret email, whatever, in at 11:30 and the deadline was noon. He always is the last minute kind of guy. What is he trying to pull? I don’t think Perry is going to be too happy about that. Bozo gave him 100 pages and it wasn’t formatted as a list!! Whoops! What a baffoon!!
He is a perfect lawyer for her.

  14. Carol, isn’t it funny!?!?!??! This is why Bozo is in-experienced…and he shows us just how so he is!

  16. mikka says:

carol ,bozos motto is STALLING,STALLING,STALLING!!

  17. smoke&mirrors says:

IMO, Judge Perry should hit Baez with sanctions by whatever legal means necessary for the following:

Stupidity and blatant disregard for carrying out an order of the court in a good-faith manner

Failure to follow court’s instructions by submitting 100 pages of itemized evidence vs. a list of evidence to be inspected for each day (7/13 & 7/14/10)

Failure to submit lists by the 12 noon deadline

Failure to provide court a courtesy copy prior to sending encrypted e-mail (after 12 noon)

This reprimand is hereby issued as a first and final warning that conduct of this nature will not be tolerated in this court. Mr. Baez, do you understand? Now, how would you like your sanction served…. Fines? Serve Time in Jail or Split the Difference?! :w00t:

    ______________________

Since Judge Perry is taking a couple days off for vacation, I thought I would get him jump started…. having this couriered over to him at the court first thing Monday morning.

  18. caroly says:

    bye mikka see you soon

  19. caroly says:

Judge Perry ordered a list. Smoke – does what you have written mean that he has to link to each one of the property forms in order to know what they have asked for? I would call that General Compliance and in California general compliance was not enough to keep Lohan out of jail. She was required to specifically comply with the Court Order.

  20. caroly says:

    Carol you still here?

If so, you still have to cover Henry Lee and that curly headed woman who Lyon had on the stand testifying about alll her research based on newspaper articles. I couldn’t believe anyone could testify based on newspaper articles!

  21. caroly says:

Why is my comment awaiting moderation humble? There is not a censorable word in it unless you consider Henry Lee censorable?

  22. smoke&mirrors says:

    Caroly,

I’m no atty., but that’s how I see it. Baez did not comply “specifically” with the order of the court. He is really pushing the envelope.

Judge Perry needs to B!tch Slap him to get his attention… Enough is Enough! This is not a game and the court is not Skippy’s Playground.

  23. mikka!

Boy Smoke, he is failing fast!

Caroly…shame on you! I will let it out!

  24. Caroly, I have no idea why it was in moderation!

Smoke, the I think the Judge is feeling Bozo out…and this could be the test. Of course I am sure the Bozo is trying to get a mistrial…one way or another. Maybe he needs to lose his license. I know, i will call him an Attorney impersonator!

  25. Alisa’s kidnapper cut her hair! WTH!

  26. smoke&mirrors says:

    Humble,

 Attorney Impersonator, indeed! Maybe Baez is trying to get Judge Perry to lose his cool so he can try to get him off the case, too. Well, that’s not going to happen. If anything Baez is going to get himself into a lot of trouble. hmmmm Maybe that’s what he’s trying to do… get off this case!

  27. smoke&mirrors says:

Oooooooooh Humble! You used my fav phrase… WTH! You must really be upset.

  28. caroly says:

Trying to make her look like a boy Humble???

  29. Smoke he could be trying to get off the case. We know he won’t get anymore money. He is on his own! I was mad he cut her hair! That is sad…..poor girl!

Caroly, they just said to disguise her. And she did look like a boy!

  30. caroly says:

I would be so angry is someone made me open a bunch of links when I asked for a list. Grrrrrrr.

  31. Caroly, I have a feeling there could be a private meeting with the Bozo and the Judge….Well, they need to make it a hearing!

  32. caroly says:

It reminds me of Johnny Cochrane describing how effective the ski mask in disguising a man who is 6’4″. He had a point there. That sweet little girl looks almost the same with her hair short.

  33. I had to change the channel, JVM is irking me!

  34. caroly says:

Humble – is the judge allowed a private meeting with Bozo or does the prosecutor have to be there even if it in chambers? Do you know?

  35. smoke&mirrors says:

I don’t even want to think about what that Pervert had in store for that sweet innocent child, Alisa…. just glad to know she is still alive!

  36. Funny Johnny didn’t jump on the Casey case! Oh wait, I think he passed away if I remember correctly! But we know that he would sure help out the d-team, if he could! NOT!

I am not sure that I would have thought that she was Alisa!

  37. Caroly, I think the state would be there to, at least representing the state! Bozo is pushing his last straw down his throat!

Smoke, I agree! And I was so happy when she was found alive. What a great ending!

  38. caroly says:

She is such a pretty little girl. Thank God Casey wasn’t her mother! I am so hoping he didn’t hurt her but I don’t really believe that he didn’t.

  39. Bozo pulling this crap, even makes Perry Mason wanna be look like crap!

  40. caroly says:

I have been wondering how much time Mason will be spending on Casey’s trial considering he is probono and a he has just been hired for a big ticket case which he will get paid for. I thought he said he was retired?

  41. Well, look at it this way, attorney’s lie too!

  42. glen says:

do i hear jail doors closing for being in contempt?
i would laugh my a$$ off..and you all maybe right is
he tring to get thrown off,,,here comes second chair time.
but mason is being perry on the other case….jmo

  43. caroly says:

humble   Yes they do!

    Hi glen.

  44. Hi Glen, good to see you! I would laugh too! I guess the Bozo just doesn’t get it!

  45. Caroly, I have never seen such a bunch of lying attorney’s in one case. LKB, Lyon, Bozo……….

  46. PLUS, the have the Doc Lee….now he is an evidence planter, loser, etc….see they all fit in!

  47. glen says:

bozo’s reply to the judge, ” i sent the wrong fill by mistake, the correct one will be sent in a few mins….judge is going to look at bozo as a moron..jmo

  48. OK, I have to go…bbl…Be safe!

  49. Glen, bozo is a moron! see ya later!

  50. glen says:

hard lessons are hard to learn when you are that dumm…unbeleivable

  51. caroly says:

Humble – your remark re Dr. Lee didn’t go to moderation! I guess there must have been another censored word in mine. lol

  52. caroly says:

you know what you call people who don’t learn from experience glen …. it’s one of the criteria for a psychopath

  53. glen says:

hi caroly…i agree, just do not understand thes people….
humble is right they are a bunch of liers.

  54. glen says:

i’v got to go..good to see all

  55. caroly says:
