The Prosecution wants transcripts from a 25 March sidebar. The transcript would be used for “purpose of trial,” according to a court document filed today by Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick.
It’s unclear what information would be used for trial.
At the hearing, prosecutors wanted Anthony’s attorney, Baez to reveal how the case was being funded and questioned whether he had any conflict of interest. They wanted to ensure he was not playing two roles for Anthony: defense attorney and story agent. That would be a conflict of interest, Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton argued at the hearing.
Baez denied it! As he denies everything!
Judge Strickland met with Baez and the prosecutors in a closed meeting to discuss whether there any conflict of interest. The Judge announced he found no conflict of interest.
The judge has not ruled on the state’s request for the transcript.
TODAY: We know the defense received quite a bit of money. According to Baez he received $275,000 early on in the case, made up of $5,000 from a yet unnamed donor, $70,000 from Casey’s former attorney Todd Macaluso, and $200,000 from ABC for pictures of Caylee. There is still $165,000 not accounted for!
The defense wanted the Judge to seal all and any records related to the costs for indigent Casey! According to the d-teams attorney, it will cause speculation of their defense and not let Casey have a fair trial! In the 6 May 2010 hearing the Judge DENIED the d-team motion to keep the records sealed.

Paragraph 1:
He received a phone call from an ex-inmate who stated she had a friend who conspired with Maya Derkovic to create a lie to possibly benefit from her knowing Casey Anthony at the Orange County Jail. The unknown caller informed the undersigned that she would be calling later that evening.
Basically, Jose received a phone call saying a current inmate would be calling him (collect most likely) that evening with information about Maya Derkovic. (Jose likely soiled his underwear from sheer excitement.)
Paragraph 2:
Shortly thereafter, the undersigned counsel was advised by his secretary after hours, that Robin Lunceford was attempting to reach him. The case was transferred to the undersigned counsel cell phone, upon which a conversation with the prospective witness occurred.
Jose failed to list his secretary’s name and I don’t know any secretary who works after hours, I suspect what really happened is that when Robin Lunceford called, his after-hours answering service answered (almost every solo lawyer uses one – I use a company called Signius) and forwarded the call to him. (Personally, for Jose, I hope my suspicion is incorrect, because lack of candor with judges and misrepresentation are big no-no’s for lawyers.)

There was a little Casey Anthony news today, and WFTV-Ch. 9 supplied headlines. Anthony doesn’t have any money in her jail account, WFTV reported tonight.
How did this come to be? “George Anthony has not put any money into jail account for nearly two months, not since the news broke that he wrote Casey an angry letter responding to her allegations of sexual abuse,” anchor Martie Salt said.
Yes, such allegations would anger a parent.
The bottom line? Anthony owes the jail more than $41, Salt added.
WFTV also reported that Judge Belvin Perry had appointed a special magistrate to watch over the Anthony defense team when it looks at Texas EquuSearch records.
Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.
