Ive made this and its reall simple.Omit the cinnomon and add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract instead
CHERRY ALMOND CRUMB PIE
9″ unbaked pie shell
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sliced almonds
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
21 oz. can cherry pie filling
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Line the pie shell with a double thickness of foil and bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool while making crumb topping.
Combine flour, sugar, salt and nutmeg. Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the flour mixture with your fingers until crumbly. Add the almonds. Add the cinnamon to the cherry pie filling.
Pour the pie filling in the pie shell. Sprinkle with the crumb topping. Reduce oven to 350 degrees and continue baking for about 35 minutes until topping is brown. Cool and serve.

Thank you Eyes…It sound really good and I will be making 2 of them. I LOVE almond extract. Do I use real butter or margarine? One other question…what does it mean line the pie shell with double thickness of foil? I have a ceramic and or glass pie pans.

You dont have to line the pie crust, but what that method is for is to “firm” up your dough before you put wet ingredients in it.Just dont line it and bake about 5 mins.That way your crust wont be soggy.Use REAL butter,it has more flavor.You can also use 1/2 flour and 1/2 oats or crumbled vanilla wafers for the topping…

Niecey, Your post was quite appropriate and brought to the surface a lot of the thoughts I was having about this vote. Thank you for putting in to words what so many are thinking.
Obviously, it is an honor to be nominated for any award that recognizes your talents. For me, it would also be an honor to win the award if I won it honestly and fairly. This is the problem I have with how this blog owner is going about winning. Nothing about it is honest or fair.
Now most of you have seen the multitude of posts asking for votes. I come to this area of WordPress to read more about the Anthony case, not to have to fight through posts that prompt me to Vote for Me or Why I Vote for this man who can do no wrong and you should too!! The only light at the end of the tunnel is that the contest ends in 8 days!!
Now all that bugs me, but what really left a bad taste in my mouth is the multiple voting that is going on. Bloggers are making up multiple emails and names to pad the votes.
As I said, I am a lurker and I read several blogs. I lost all respect for this blog owner when he was encouraging his ladies to open up more email addresses. Several even have them for their pets, including a bird. To me, that is a desperate,win at all costs, move.
This from a person who reminds others his catchwords are facts, fairness, bonesty, etc. He is quick to point out his critics are jealous and have no self-esteem. Well, I think by now most everyone knows that if he wins it has been done not by fairness, but dogs, cats, mice and birds voting along with the double and triple voting ladies. I think if you want to win an award that bad maybe some self-esteem isues may be involved, thus the win at all costs mentality.
In conclusion, I am not sure how this person sleeps well at night. And if he does, I find that even more frightening, that means his moral compass does not find the actions I outlined as cheating.
Would’nt it have been more fun and rewarding to find out you won if you did it the right and fair way? And I am sure Victory would have tasted so much sweeter. Even if he did not win, playing by the rules, I would have never lost my respect for him and felt he was honored by the nomination.
As it is now, no one in the blog world will feel he won fair and square, if he does win. They will continue to talk about him and he will have to come up with more childish variations of bowel movement and flatulance words to call them. Another of my pet peeves as no other blog I visit uses those words on a daily basis(thank you neicey for never using them!). Perhaps he had a bad potty training experience as there sure is an anal fixation!

WASHINGTON – In the first study of its kind, Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that companion cats and dogs are polluted with even higher levels of many of the same synthetic industrial chemicals that researchers have recently found in people, including newborns.
In addition to being guardians, playmates and even beloved family members, dogs and cats may also be serving as sentinels for human health problems that can arise from exposures to industrial chemicals.
In recognition of the unique roles that pets play in our lives, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) undertook a study to investigate the extent of exposures dogs and cats face to contaminants in our homes and outdoor environments. What we found was startling.
Dogs and cats were contaminated with 48 of 70 industrial chemicals tested, including 43 chemicals at levels higher than those typically found in people, according to our study of blood and urine from 20 dogs and 40 cats. Average levels of many chemicals were substantially higher in pets than is typical for people, with 2.4 times higher levels of stain-and grease-proof coatings (perfluorochemicals) in dogs, 23 times more fire retardants (PBDEs) in cats, and more than 5 times the amounts of mercury, compared to average levels in people found in national studies conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and EWG.
“Like humans, pets are also exposed to toxic chemicals on a daily basis, and as this investigation found, are contaminated at higher levels,” said Jane Houlihan, VP for Research at EWG. “The presence of chemicals in dogs and cats sounds a cautionary warning for the present and future health of children as well. This study demonstrating the chemical body burden of dogs and cats is a wake-up call for stronger safety standards from industrial chemical exposures that will protect all members of our families, including our pets.”
“This study is valuable in that it used pet animals that live in nearly fifty percent of all US households as environmental sentinels to measure the level of contamination with a wide variety of industrial chemicals that have also been shown to be present in human tissue. Because pet animals tend to have similar or higher concentrations of these chemicals in their body than humans, epidemiological studies of pets can be used to identify potential adverse health effects at a lower cost and in a much shorter period of time than it would take to perform similar studies in humans,” said Dr. Larry Glickman – a leading veterinarian and distinguished scientist who for the past three decades conducted research in veterinary epidemiology.
“This study shows that our pets are susceptible to the absorption of potentially harmful chemicals from our environment just as we are. Perhaps even more troubling is that these chemicals have been found in higher levels in pets than in humans implying potential harmful consequences for their health and well being and the need for further study,” said Dr. John Billeter, DVM, the veterinarian who conducted the blood and urine tests.
Just as children ingest pollutants in tap water, play on lawns with pesticide residues, or breathe in an array of indoor air contaminants, so do their pets. But with there compressed lifespans, developing and aging seven or more times faster than children, pets also develop health problems much more rapidly. Pets, like infants and toddlers, have limited diets and play close to the floor, often licking the ground as well as their paws, greatly increasing both their exposures to chemicals and the resulting health risks.
In America there are 8 times more companion dogs and cats than there are children under five. Seventy percent more households have dogs or cats than children of any age. These pets are often beloved family members, and yet they can be subjected to chronic, constant exposures to chemical contaminants in homes, yards, and parks that pet owners cannot always prevent.
Scientists Link Chemical Exposure to Increased Rates of Cancer, Other Diseases in Pets:
Under current federal law, chemical companies do not have to prove chemicals are safe before they are used in products, including pet toys and other products for our companion animals. For pets as for people, the result is a body burden of complex mixtures of industrial chemicals never tested for safety. Health problems in pets span high rates of cancer in dogs and skyrocketing incidence of hyperthyroidism in cats. Genetic changes can’t explain the increases in certain health problems among pets, leaving scientists to believe that chemical exposures play a significant role.

Steph! Madness indeed!!! I have a question that I don’t want to bring up on the main page of any WordPress blogs but I’m dying to know. How did Judge Strickland know that DM was in his courtroom that time? Are we supposed to believe that he just happened to recognize him because he saw one third of his face in his banner at the top of his blog and realized it was him and just had to speak to him??? I hardly think so. In my opinion DM must have asked someone (a bailiff probably) before court began if he could have a word with the judge when court was over, right? How else would the judge know? I’ve been very curious about this. Anyone know how that went down? Thanks.

Bees Knees~I know your question was not addressed to me but I wanted to tell you I have also wondered that and I have it recorded so I went back and watched again to see if I could catch anything new, well….when the Judge calls the women(deputy) up to him and tells her he wants to see the man in the second row in the striped shirt he also says its the guy in this picture right here. So I am just guess but I bet Ole’ MD sent a note or letter to him asking to meet him.

the judge may have actually scolded him for being in the courtroom.. without a reason except to flaunt his blog… someone probably told the judge and the judge called him out and once he admitted yes he was a blog owner… judge said that this is not a game for his amusement….

I came across it on the link Humble left above. 2 y/o and up in a pagent, wearing enough hairspray and makeup to destroy their ourer 5 loayers of epidermis. They have pics on the article I read of these kids with their cell phones, at age 7, making lots of disgruntled faces etc. What is wrong with this country??? Cant a kid be a kid just for a few years??? Parents need to win awards vicariously through their progeny to gain some kind of recognition? Im sorry, Im all about cute babies, kids in dance lessons, ( cheerleading at 3—not so much) kids in sports…I think one of the biggest problems is kids dont get to play, interact, learn about the world in their own space and time. Sorry, a pet peeve of mine…I have never thought starting stressful competition for kids at young ages was good. JMHO and rant!
AZ…I have real issues with beauty pageants for these little girls. Our niece has been in baby pageants and such, none of them had real talents but being cute babies/kids. My issues are so much more about taking these children and making them look like they are 25 yrs old. I don’t get it…they are all still babies and need to enjoy their childhoods. They have plenty of time to be adults…their whole lives. You only have so much time to be a child. Wait until their girls are pre-teen and they know everything and think they are 25 yrs old…why rush it?

Don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it or not, but we’re the only state that has something like this, or so it says.. I’ve been using it to track the guy who stole from us.. As of a few minutes ago, he’s still incarcerated.. YEE HAA!! It notifies you via email when the criminals status changes. Thanks just! No one that I’m tracking at this time, and hopefully won’t be, but this is a great tool for anyone that is. I looked up the chester the molester that used to be the pastor at a church near here. I guess he’s still roaming the streets. I know he was indicted, but it hasn’t gone to court yet to my knowledge. Meanwhile, other children are being put at risk. I’m sure the church is hiding him somewhere.
Greetings all! Miss me? Been away a while. My adult son was hit by a car while riding his bike, in Fayetteville. I was down there tending to him, ER, surgery & recovery. Built a ramp for his 3-4 months of wheelchair so that he could be released for home. Shattered wrist & forearm, broken pelvis and major road rash.
Meanwhile…. Sheniya happend right there. Grandmother works with my DIL.
thanks humble, luckily its all mendable and only temporary pain for him. he’s lucky and me too! Just glad he will be ok in time.
The DIL works at a nursing/assisted living home. i think shaniya’s mother & grandmother BOTH worked there one in the kitchen and one in housekeeping but the grandmother is saying no way! said her daughter “use to” do drugs but no more and no way she did this! (yea right)
justme66, thanks so much! He sure was lucky & me TOO!! he’s broken but he’s still here to tell about it! Luckily he’s in the Air Force so his medical bills are all paid and he got great care, and they were great to me too!
Karma, you know who makes out on that is the person in the car, if they are at fault. The medical is paid for! I am pretty impressed with military hospitals! You get really good care there!
Hope he get better soon. The broken pelvis has got to be very painful!
mikka, thanks so much! I got back early this morning. he is doing better and is so very lucky to have repairable injuries, now its just heal and rest. he is not one to sit still and will have to be in a wheelchair 3-4 months.

Does your DIL work with the grandmother from mom’s or dad’s side? It is all so heartbreaking…I feel so bad for what happened to Shaniya. I also feel really bad for her father. They keep showing the vigil from last night..I believe it is last night. He is just heartbroken and will forever live with the guilt of allowing Shaniya to stay longer with her mom.

Amber Alert Issued For Missing Girl

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee has issued an Amber Alert for a missing girl last seen in Port St. Lucie.
The girl was last seen wearing a blue skirt with a pink or purple shirt. Her name wasn’t released. Authorities say she is about 7 or 8 years old.
According to the Amber Alert, the girl might be with two men who might be traveling in a white van. She is believed to be in danger.
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee has retracted an Amber Alert for a girl after learning the story was a hoax.
Police told Local 6 news partner WPEC that two boys made up a story about the girl, who was never identified by name.

FYI, we dumped AOL once they started adding ads to the emails that we sent! :biggrin:
Gap, we dumped aol for a different internet server, that is all! It got rather annoying when I was emailing my man, who was at sea for 6 months, and it could come back at the bottom with the AOL ads in the email. I sent them an email and they would not remove the ads. I told them I was not going to promote their ads in MY EMAIL that I pay for, dumped them that day. I am very happy with the internet provider we have, and no ads in my emails!
Today in chat if I forget either remind me, or ask if anyone else has the number 0-9 only! I am very curious now!

Good morning.. I’d like to take the time this morning to say, thanks Humble for bringing us all together as one big happy family! I find everyone kind, with feelings unlike any other blog I’ve ever been privy to. If not for our sweet baby girl, Caylee Marie, we would not be here. I reiterate, I don’t always post but have learned so much just reading your most intelligent observations & most times I feel spot on to my thoughts. If I had to pick & chose a family I would pick all of you! I’m not sure how old most of you are but coming from an older mom, I would be proud to be mom to any one of you! Anyway, I wanted to add, I had fun yesterday awaiting our new room color & do not hold anything against those who voted blue. Won’t be around again today, unfortunately.. Had just got to work and gotten started yesterday when I received a phone call from my youngest son.. He’d had an accident.. He was riding 4-wheelers with a friend of his, and had gotten thrown off.. So here I go, rushing 50 miles to the hospital, in a frenzy.. Thank the good Lord above, he suffered a broken clavicle, and some pretty good scrapes and bruises.. He had his helmet on, or it could have been a LOT worse.. I’ll take a broken bone and some scrapes, over a coffin anyday… Needless to say, he’s in some pretty horrible pain, but he’s breathing and that’s the most important thing.. I didn’t get home until 5:30 am, so I have to go and finish stripping/waxing those floors today, before the office re-opens tomorrow.. Pray that I can hold up, and that my son will recover without too much pain.. Thanks everyone, for everything you do.. I love ya’ll.. *HUGS*

Just…sorry to hear about your son. I HATE 4 wheelers. A friend of ours had one that he kept at our farm and he came and got it last week. I was soooo relieved. I’ve heard of too many horrible accidents on them. We used to have a 3 wheeler YEARS ago when I was younger and dumber and they were even more dangerous but loved spending Sunday afternoon on the trails in Livingston…do you know where that is? We flipped it once (my husband and I on it) and I thought my back was broken, but dummy me got back on. Fortunately we were never seriously hurt on it but we had plenty of scrapes and bruises. We did however, see more than one person taken from the trails on a stretcher.

I pulled off at that exit a couple times on sundays and wow, they are everywhere…. and I later learned it is the place to go for these vehicles.. I would be too scared to go on a trail.. COCOA, Fla. — A missing Brevard County boy was located by the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday.
Authorities said Luke Finch disappeared over the weekend during a court-appointed supervised visit with his father, Paul Martikainen, 35.
Witnesses reported seeing Luke with Martikainen at a St. Petersburg marina. The witnesses said the father and son were boarding a friend’s 32-foot Bristol sailboat and sailed away. Martikainen’s Ford Explorer was found at a the marina.
The Coast Guard began searching for the boat in the Gulf of Mexico and broadcast a BOLO on the marine emergency channel every hour.
A representative with the Cocoa Police Department said Tuesday morning that Luke was found by the Coast Guard and is expected to arrive in Fort Myers Beach sometime during the evening.

Ive made this and its reall simple.Omit the cinnomon and add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract instead
CHERRY ALMOND CRUMB PIE
9″ unbaked pie shell
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sliced almonds
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
21 oz. can cherry pie filling
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Line the pie shell with a double thickness of foil and bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool while making crumb topping.
Combine flour, sugar, salt and nutmeg. Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the flour mixture with your fingers until crumbly. Add the almonds. Add the cinnamon to the cherry pie filling.
Pour the pie filling in the pie shell. Sprinkle with the crumb topping. Reduce oven to 350 degrees and continue baking for about 35 minutes until topping is brown. Cool and serve.

You dont have to line the pie crust, but what that method is for is to “firm” up your dough before you put wet ingredients in it.Just dont line it and bake about 5 mins.That way your crust wont be soggy.Use REAL butter,it has more flavor.You can also use 1/2 flour and 1/2 oats or crumbled vanilla wafers for the topping…

Niecey, Your post was quite appropriate and brought to the surface a lot of the thoughts I was having about this vote. Thank you for putting in to words what so many are thinking.
Obviously, it is an honor to be nominated for any award that recognizes your talents. For me, it would also be an honor to win the award if I won it honestly and fairly. This is the problem I have with how this blog owner is going about winning. Nothing about it is honest or fair.
Now most of you have seen the multitude of posts asking for votes. I come to this area of WordPress to read more about the Anthony case, not to have to fight through posts that prompt me to Vote for Me or Why I Vote for this man who can do no wrong and you should too!! The only light at the end of the tunnel is that the contest ends in 8 days!!
Now all that bugs me, but what really left a bad taste in my mouth is the multiple voting that is going on. Bloggers are making up multiple emails and names to pad the votes.
As I said, I am a lurker and I read several blogs. I lost all respect for this blog owner when he was encouraging his ladies to open up more email addresses. Several even have them for their pets, including a bird. To me, that is a desperate,win at all costs, move.
This from a person who reminds others his catchwords are facts, fairness, bonesty, etc. He is quick to point out his critics are jealous and have no self-esteem. Well, I think by now most everyone knows that if he wins it has been done not by fairness, but dogs, cats, mice and birds voting along with the double and triple voting ladies. I think if you want to win an award that bad maybe some self-esteem isues may be involved, thus the win at all costs mentality.
In conclusion, I am not sure how this person sleeps well at night. And if he does, I find that even more frightening, that means his moral compass does not find the actions I outlined as cheating.
Would’nt it have been more fun and rewarding to find out you won if you did it the right and fair way? And I am sure Victory would have tasted so much sweeter. Even if he did not win, playing by the rules, I would have never lost my respect for him and felt he was honored by the nomination.
As it is now, no one in the blog world will feel he won fair and square, if he does win. They will continue to talk about him and he will have to come up with more childish variations of bowel movement and flatulance words to call them. Another of my pet peeves as no other blog I visit uses those words on a daily basis(thank you neicey for never using them!). Perhaps he had a bad potty training experience as there sure is an anal fixation!

WASHINGTON – In the first study of its kind, Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that companion cats and dogs are polluted with even higher levels of many of the same synthetic industrial chemicals that researchers have recently found in people, including newborns.
In addition to being guardians, playmates and even beloved family members, dogs and cats may also be serving as sentinels for human health problems that can arise from exposures to industrial chemicals.
In recognition of the unique roles that pets play in our lives, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) undertook a study to investigate the extent of exposures dogs and cats face to contaminants in our homes and outdoor environments. What we found was startling.
Dogs and cats were contaminated with 48 of 70 industrial chemicals tested, including 43 chemicals at levels higher than those typically found in people, according to our study of blood and urine from 20 dogs and 40 cats. Average levels of many chemicals were substantially higher in pets than is typical for people, with 2.4 times higher levels of stain-and grease-proof coatings (perfluorochemicals) in dogs, 23 times more fire retardants (PBDEs) in cats, and more than 5 times the amounts of mercury, compared to average levels in people found in national studies conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and EWG.
“Like humans, pets are also exposed to toxic chemicals on a daily basis, and as this investigation found, are contaminated at higher levels,” said Jane Houlihan, VP for Research at EWG. “The presence of chemicals in dogs and cats sounds a cautionary warning for the present and future health of children as well. This study demonstrating the chemical body burden of dogs and cats is a wake-up call for stronger safety standards from industrial chemical exposures that will protect all members of our families, including our pets.”
“This study is valuable in that it used pet animals that live in nearly fifty percent of all US households as environmental sentinels to measure the level of contamination with a wide variety of industrial chemicals that have also been shown to be present in human tissue. Because pet animals tend to have similar or higher concentrations of these chemicals in their body than humans, epidemiological studies of pets can be used to identify potential adverse health effects at a lower cost and in a much shorter period of time than it would take to perform similar studies in humans,” said Dr. Larry Glickman – a leading veterinarian and distinguished scientist who for the past three decades conducted research in veterinary epidemiology.
“This study shows that our pets are susceptible to the absorption of potentially harmful chemicals from our environment just as we are. Perhaps even more troubling is that these chemicals have been found in higher levels in pets than in humans implying potential harmful consequences for their health and well being and the need for further study,” said Dr. John Billeter, DVM, the veterinarian who conducted the blood and urine tests.
Just as children ingest pollutants in tap water, play on lawns with pesticide residues, or breathe in an array of indoor air contaminants, so do their pets. But with there compressed lifespans, developing and aging seven or more times faster than children, pets also develop health problems much more rapidly. Pets, like infants and toddlers, have limited diets and play close to the floor, often licking the ground as well as their paws, greatly increasing both their exposures to chemicals and the resulting health risks.
In America there are 8 times more companion dogs and cats than there are children under five. Seventy percent more households have dogs or cats than children of any age. These pets are often beloved family members, and yet they can be subjected to chronic, constant exposures to chemical contaminants in homes, yards, and parks that pet owners cannot always prevent.
Scientists Link Chemical Exposure to Increased Rates of Cancer, Other Diseases in Pets:
Under current federal law, chemical companies do not have to prove chemicals are safe before they are used in products, including pet toys and other products for our companion animals. For pets as for people, the result is a body burden of complex mixtures of industrial chemicals never tested for safety. Health problems in pets span high rates of cancer in dogs and skyrocketing incidence of hyperthyroidism in cats. Genetic changes can’t explain the increases in certain health problems among pets, leaving scientists to believe that chemical exposures play a significant role.

Steph! Madness indeed!!! I have a question that I don’t want to bring up on the main page of any WordPress blogs but I’m dying to know. How did Judge Strickland know that DM was in his courtroom that time? Are we supposed to believe that he just happened to recognize him because he saw one third of his face in his banner at the top of his blog and realized it was him and just had to speak to him??? I hardly think so. In my opinion DM must have asked someone (a bailiff probably) before court began if he could have a word with the judge when court was over, right? How else would the judge know? I’ve been very curious about this. Anyone know how that went down? Thanks.

So I am just guess but I bet Ole’ MD sent a note or letter to him asking to meet him.

Just to add my two cents, I was highly upset A. That Strickland would ( if he did) make a comment about any blog at all, it would be like telling Belich good job pinning Casey to the wall!
B. That the idiot would make such a spectacle about it on his website, which any conversation should have been considered private.
C. That a poem lauding the idiot and indicating that Strickland basically adored him, would be posted on the main page of his site
I dont care WHAT was said, I will never believe Strickland said anything about being the ” bet” or fairest etc. I also dont think Strickland cares less what anyone thinks of the A’s, as he has shown no real interest in them from the beginning! If anyone getts the chance and is bored, google the elegant miss Hunt-Darnett event in NC. I came across it on the link Humble left above. 2 y/o and up in a pagent, wearing enough hairspray and makeup to destroy their ourer 5 loayers of epidermis. They have pics on the article I read of these kids with their cell phones, at age 7, making lots of disgruntled faces etc. What is wrong with this country??? Cant a kid be a kid just for a few years??? Parents need to win awards vicariously through their progeny to gain some kind of recognition? Im sorry, Im all about cute babies, kids in dance lessons, ( cheerleading at 3—not so much) kids in sports…I think one of the biggest problems is kids dont get to play, interact, learn about the world in their own space and time. Sorry, a pet peeve of mine…I have never thought starting stressful competition for kids at young ages was good. JMHO and rant!

AZ…I have real issues with beauty pageants for these little girls. Our niece has been in baby pageants and such, none of them had real talents but being cute babies/kids. My issues are so much more about taking these children and making them look like they are 25 yrs old. I don’t get it…they are all still babies and need to enjoy their childhoods. They have plenty of time to be adults…their whole lives. You only have so much time to be a child. Wait until their girls are pre-teen and they know everything and think they are 25 yrs old…why rush it?

Greetings all! Miss me? Been away a while. My adult son was hit by a car while riding his bike, in Fayetteville. I was down there tending to him, ER, surgery & recovery. Built a ramp for his 3-4 months of wheelchair so that he could be released for home. Shattered wrist & forearm, broken pelvis and major road rash.
Meanwhile…. Sheniya happend right there. Grandmother works with my DIL.

The DIL works at a nursing/assisted living home. i think shaniya’s mother & grandmother BOTH worked there one in the kitchen and one in housekeeping but the grandmother is saying no way! said her daughter “use to” do drugs but no more and no way she did this! (yea right)

Does your DIL work with the grandmother from mom’s or dad’s side? It is all so heartbreaking…I feel so bad for what happened to Shaniya. I also feel really bad for her father. They keep showing the vigil from last night..I believe it is last night. He is just heartbroken and will forever live with the guilt of allowing Shaniya to stay longer with her mom.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee has issued an Amber Alert for a missing girl last seen in Port St. Lucie.
The girl was last seen wearing a blue skirt with a pink or purple shirt. Her name wasn’t released. Authorities say she is about 7 or 8 years old.
According to the Amber Alert, the girl might be with two men who might be traveling in a white van. She is believed to be in danger.

Gap, we dumped aol for a different internet server, that is all! It got rather annoying when I was emailing my man, who was at sea for 6 months, and it could come back at the bottom with the AOL ads in the email. I sent them an email and they would not remove the ads. I told them I was not going to promote their ads in MY EMAIL that I pay for, dumped them that day. I am very happy with the internet provider we have, and no ads in my emails!

I find everyone kind, with feelings unlike any other blog I’ve ever been privy to. If not for our sweet baby girl, Caylee Marie, we would not be here. If I had to pick & chose a family I would pick all of you! I’m not sure how old most of you are but coming from an older mom, I would be proud to be mom to any one of you! Won’t be around again today, unfortunately.. Had just got to work and gotten started yesterday when I received a phone call from my youngest son.. He’d had an accident.. He was riding 4-wheelers with a friend of his, and had gotten thrown off.. So here I go, rushing 50 miles to the hospital, in a frenzy.. Thank the good Lord above, he suffered a broken clavicle, and some pretty good scrapes and bruises.. He had his helmet on, or it could have been a LOT worse.. I’ll take a broken bone and some scrapes, over a coffin anyday… Needless to say, he’s in some pretty horrible pain, but he’s breathing and that’s the most important thing.. I didn’t get home until 5:30 am, so I have to go and finish stripping/waxing those floors today, before the office re-opens tomorrow.. Pray that I can hold up, and that my son will recover without too much pain.. Thanks everyone, for everything you do.. I love ya’ll.. *HUGS*

Just…sorry to hear about your son. I HATE 4 wheelers. A friend of ours had one that he kept at our farm and he came and got it last week. I was soooo relieved. I’ve heard of too many horrible accidents on them. We used to have a 3 wheeler YEARS ago when I was younger and dumber and they were even more dangerous but loved spending Sunday afternoon on the trails in Livingston…do you know where that is? We flipped it once (my husband and I on it) and I thought my back was broken, but dummy me got back on. Fortunately we were never seriously hurt on it but we had plenty of scrapes and bruises. We did however, see more than one person taken from the trails on a stretcher.

marsha, I know all about livingston being a mecca for 3 and 4 wheelers!!! I pulled off at that exit a couple times on sundays and wow, they are everywhere…. and I later learned it is the place to go for these vehicles.. I would be too scared to go on a trail.. I will think of you everytime I go past livinston now…

Coast Guard Finds Missing Brevard Boy
COCOA, Fla. — A missing Brevard County boy was located by the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday.
Authorities said Luke Finch disappeared over the weekend during a court-appointed supervised visit with his father, Paul Martikainen, 35.
Witnesses reported seeing Luke with Martikainen at a St. Petersburg marina. The witnesses said the father and son were boarding a friend’s 32-foot Bristol sailboat and sailed away. Martikainen’s Ford Explorer was found at a the marina.
The Coast Guard began searching for the boat in the Gulf of Mexico and broadcast a BOLO on the marine emergency channel every hour.
A representative with the Cocoa Police Department said Tuesday morning that Luke was found by the Coast Guard and is expected to arrive in Fort Myers Beach sometime during the evening.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton was in an Orange County courtroom Wednesday.
Amanda Brumfield is accused of killing her goddaughter while babysitting the child in October 2008.
The 29-year-old initially told investigators the girl fell from her playpen.
An autopsy revealed injuries consistent with something as severe as a car crash.
The state is seeking the death penalty.

Video from the hospital showed a middle-aged woman being removed from an ambulance on a stretcher and taken through an emergency entrance.
Health Central is the same hospital where Woods was taken after his crash on Nov. 27.
OK, so an ambulance shows up at the Woods house, takes Elin’s mom to the hospital, but Elin doesn’t live there anymore [according to the news reports]! So why would Elin’s mom be staying at the Woods house if Elin isn’t there! Makes you wonder if she DID move out…or is the rumor mill flowing?
I just read where she was staying in “one ” of tigers home in the area.. and I also read that she had had dinner with daughter elin and elin’s twin sister!!!! I never knew that she had a twin sister..oh well.. I bet it was a house in the same neighborhood.
I think if you beat a baby so bad its skull is cracked and it dies.. you deserve death penalty.. I dont care if she is billy bobs’ daughter.. it was her goddaughter,, if she didnt want to be around a baby , just say no, I cant watch her….
