A South Carolina toddler has been reunited with his family after being lost for more than a day in woods near his home and spending a rainy night outdoors as temperatures dropped into the low 40s.

The 21-month-old boy, Jason Burton, was examined by doctors at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and described as being in good condition for his night alone in the elements.

About 200 people searched for the boy from the time he disappeared from his home early Friday afternoon.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said a deputy and a state natural resources officer kayaking on the Tyger River about two miles upstream from the boy’s home spotted Jason sleeping on a log beneath an embankment. He was flown by helicopter to a command post where officers and his parents were waiting.

The boy’s family told deputies that Jason must have walked out the front door while his mother was in the bathroom.

rememeber this…..Human remains have been found at the U.S. border lake where a man was reported to have been killed by Mexican pirates last year.
The skeletal remains were found by a fisherman on the Mexican side of Falcon Lake on the Texas-Mexico border.
They were discovered about 15 miles from where 30-year-old David Hartley from Colorado was last seen alive in September 2010

She said he was shot in the back of the head as they were fired upon by three boats of Mexican pirates.
Mrs Hartley said she could not pull her husband on to her jet ski and had to leave him lying face down in the water.

joran heading to trial …. LIVE UPDATES BELOW

According to CNN, the 24-year-old Dutchman’s attorney, Luis Jimenez, said his client plans to plead guilty to all charges in the Flores case. Jimenez said the intention would be for van der Sloot to give a “sincere confession,” which could qualify him for a more lenient sentence under Peruvian law, the cable news network reported.

Flores was killed on May 30, 2010 — exactly five years after Holloway disappeared. The Alabama teen’s body has never been found, and van der Sloot has never been charged in her disappearance. He was, however, indicted in the U.S. on charges that he extorted $25,000 from the young woman’s parents. Prosecutors said that, in exchange for the money, he promised to reveal how Holloway died and the location of her body.

Van der Sloot’s trial begins at 10:00 a.m. in Lima’s Lurigancho prison near the Castro Castro prison. Unlike a typical American trial, there will be no jury. Instead, three judges will preside over the trial

  20. mystmiss says:

Gee Doesn’t Van der Sloot sound like the boy whole cried wolf!!! I sure hope the judges there see throught the “sincere Confession” I can’t believe any thing he says because of his pass so called confessions…. Hope he gets the max..

Since 2009, a high profile case here in Canada has concluded.. the largely circumstantial case involving the murder of four Afghan immigrants by family members has ended with guilty verdicts for all three charged. The murders, widely reported as ‘honour killings’ were three daughters of two of the accused and the fourth was the first wife of one of the accused.. Sound confusing??

Mohammed Shafia immigrated to Canada some years ago with his wife, three daughters, son and someone defined in documentation as a housekeeper. In reality, it was Shafia’s first wife. The three daughters embraced western society, cellphones, boyfriends.. supposedly partially influenced by the first wife.. So the father and mother along with the son, offed all four..

OMG!!!!! that creep killed his boys…and himself
(CNN) — Josh Powell and his two young sons — whose wife and mother, respectively, went missing more than two years ago — were killed early Sunday afternoon in an explosion at their home in Washington state, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer said that authorities have not definitively identified the bodies, but “we believe it is” Powell and his two children.

“Our guys have spent a lot of time and effort and blood, sweat and tears in this case,” said Troyer. “We have detectives who are close with the kids, … and know them. The whole thing is just sad.”

A foster-care case worker had brought Powell’s two boys to the residence for a visit, said Troyer and Graham, Washington, Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Gary Franz.

As the children got close to the door, Powell “dragged” them inside but prevented the case worker from getting in as well, according to Troyer.

Oh Friends! I bear to bring bad news…..Whitney Houston dead at the age of 48. I am sad for her daughter who is now alone in this world without her mommy. I hope she doesn’t follow in her parents path. Bobby Brown better not show his face at the funeral. Nothing good except Bobbi Christina came out of that marriage. I was sad that she married that idiot back in 1992 and I was only 17 at the time but could see he was C*AP and he would take her down with him. Soooo sad right now :(

  44. baked bread says:

OJ–You have the wisdom of someone beyond your years! I would have never guessed. You’re only slightly older than my daughter. Yeah, I got the news after church last night. I was shocked and dismayed. Her songs echoed throughout my young adulthood, and I don’t think anyone has quite ever sang our national anthem as she has so far… praying she is in God’s care now.

    PHOENIX (CBS5) –
After more than two years it’s still unknown what happened to an 8-month-old Valley boy.

Gabriel Johnson disappeared in Texas with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson.

When she was captured, her son was nowhere to be found.

Johnson said she conspired to give her boy up for adoption with the help of another Valley woman, Tammi Smith.

Now, both women are just days away from facing trial for his disappearance.

According to a memorandum filed by her attorney, Smith’s psychologist said she acts impulsively and without reflection where children are involved.

In Arizona, that’s not allowed to be used as an excuse for a crime. But her attorney believes it helps explain why she would help Johnson escape the state with her son, Gabriel.

Smith said her plan was to adopt the boy without his father’s knowledge, but once Johnson drove across the state lines, the boy was never seen again.

“It’s in her nature to feel compelled to help, because of her religious beliefs, again, because of her family background. She feels compelled to help, particularly when she perceives a woman in trouble or child in trouble,” said Smith’s attorney, Anne Phillips.

According to the filing, Smith is easily manipulated in stressful situations, in part caused by a history of abuse from her father and first three husbands. Because of that history, her psychologist said she is naively and unrealistically trusting.

“Her character in general causes her to act a certain way. Not with criminal intent but more in a misguided attempt to help,” said Phillips.

Prosecutors are trying to keep Smith’s psych evaluation out of court and are expected to paint her as a woman obsessed – who would do anything to adopt Gabriel.

    Smith’s attorney predictably disagrees.

“What I think happened is that Tammi, a good citizen, a good Samaritan, a law-abiding person, got involved with the wrong person and it spiraled out of control,” said Phillips.

Prosecutors in Smith’s case declined to comment.

Smith waived her court appearance for Tuesday’s hearing. Opening statements in her trial are now expected to begin on April 17, 2012. The trial is expected to last five week

(AP) TUCSON, Ariz. – The overnight disappearance of a 6-year-old Arizona girl triggered a massive search Saturday by scores of police, FBI agents and a large contingent of deputy U.S. Marshals as officials investigated the possibility that she might have been kidnapped or just wandered off.

Investigators also were examining every door and window of the house for signs of a break-in, Hawke said.

Both parents live in the home, so police had no indication a child custody dispute was involved but weren’t completely ruling it out.

The working-class neighborhood of single-family homes is sandwiched between a large shopping mall to the east and businesses and Catholic school to the west.

“Because of the possibly existing that this child could have been abducted, we’re treating it as if it’s that significant,” Hawke said Saturday afternoon. “We don’t want to be caught behind the ball by not exploring that possibility.”

Hawke says at least 75 law enforcement officers were involved, possibly as many as 100, as more resources continue to arrive to help in the search and investigate the disappearance.

Isabel is described as just under 4-feet-tall and weighing 44 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
