PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — The family of missing Putnam County girl, Haleigh Cummings, held a prayer vigil in hopes of finding the 5-year-old before Christmas.

Friends and family members gathered at Haleigh’s great-grandmothers home Thursday night.

They lit candles and prayed for her safe return.

Her family says they’re still holding out hope and they have her Christmas presents waiting.

Family member of Haleigh Cummings jailed in Putnam County on gun charge

The latest wrinkle in the story has nothing to do with then 5-year-old Satsuma girl’s disappearance. Freddie Wayne Cummings — the uncle of Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings — was charged Sunday with firing a gun in public after some family fisticuffs outside a Putnam County bar.

can you belive it is coming up on a year already..this is so depressing all the kids who have gone missing or were murdered this year.why can’T they find these kids????

Mary and AZ…from what they said long ago…Ron did work as an informant…I believe he had a problem with drugs. This helped keep him from getting charged for drugs.

I do believe he loved his daughter. But, I also believe he knew a whole lot more than he said he did.

    And another good one:

Paid informant in Haleigh Cummings case arrested in drug bust with Misty Croslin

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/os-misty-croslin-donna-brock-20100122,0,6915774.story

Donna Brock was a volunteer member of Texas EquuSearch and part of initial searches for Haleigh. Eventually she befriended Croslin.

AND might I add SHAME on Tim Miller:

The search group paid Brock about $3,000 to entertain Croslin and get her to open up, Miller said this week.

  16. humbleopinion on 23 January 2010 at 13:43

I wonder where the $3,000 came from? money sent in for them to go out and search!???? I guess I send no more to this non-profit! They use to use the money for GOOD!

Hi Humble…I think something is wrong there. Misty’s bond was higher than any of theirs from what I understood yesterday or when it happened…They said 900,000.00. Did something change?

  26. maze on 27 January 2010 at 18:07

I hear they dropped the bond amtount on misty and her brother..

  27. calipam on 11 February 2010 at 08:57

I think Haleigh’s disappearance has always been about drugs…maybe drug $ owed & Misty being afraid for her own life to give whoever took her up, or being so messsed up she’s not sure which one actually took her,or she left the kids alone to go get loaded…many possible scenarios with drugs at the center. Sad, but could Haleigh possibly still be alive? I doubt it
Maybe if they keep Misty in isolation long enough something will come out to give LE the clue they need. Don’t get why NG still has a soft spot for Ronald Cummings, who’s as creepy as they come. Out selling drugs with Misty, & only after he’s busted & jailed does he start crying about his Haleigh again. Addicts are the best manipulators around. Somebody in that trailer park knows something. Poor Haleigh didn’t have a chance. The whole thing just makes me so mad.

Haleigh bounty hunter pleads guilty to battery

    http://www.palatkadailynews.com/articles/2010/03/25/news/news01.txt

    By Larry Sullivan
Published: Thursday, March 25, 2010 12:57 AM EDT
A bounty hunter accused of illegally detaining a Putnam County sex-abuse suspect while investigating the Haleigh Cummings case pleaded guilty Wednesday to battery.

William Staubs, 52, who calls himself “Cobra,” was charged one year ago with false imprisonment for apprehending and handcuffing William Snodgrass, 55, who at the time was home on bond while charged with capital sexual battery of a 9-year-old girl in 2007.

Snodgrass was held for an hour, deputies said.

During a hearing Wednesday in Palatka, Staubs pleaded guilty to battery, a first-degree misdemeanor and lesser charge associated to false imprisonment.

Circuit Judge Ed Hedstrom sentenced Staubs to one year probation and barred him from working as a bondsman in the 7th Judicial Circuit, which includes Putnam County

    Joe Overstreet Arrested

On Sunday, police searched an Antioch, Tennessee home where Joe Overstreet, the cousin of Misty Croslin, lives.

Several months ago, Overstreet was questioned about the disappearance of missing Satsuma, Florida Haleigh Cummings, who Misty was taking care of on the night she vanished in February 2009.

According to WSMV, the home in the 1500 block of Antioch Pike was searched for narcotics and stolen goods. However, in April Florida authorities descended on the house to speak to Overstreet about Haleigh’s disappearance.

Sunday’s search was prompted by a tip given to police. Officers detained and questioned two men, but would not confirm whether one of them was Overstreet and at press, no charges had been filed.

Misty: Cousin Put ‘Screaming’ Haleigh In Black Bag

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The woman who was at home with Haleigh Cummings the night she disappeared told investigators she heard the girl being attacked, her attorney said Tuesday.

Attorney Robert Fields said 18-year-old Misty Croslin told investigators the attack came after her cousin arrived looking for a gun belonging to Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings. Croslin was living in a Satsuma mobile home with Cummings at the time. The two later married but then broke up.

Croslin told investigators she saw her cousin Joe Overstreet put the screaming child in a black bag, and she heard a van door open and close outside.

“Haleigh was a substitute” for the missing gun, Fields said.

Pay close ATTENTION to him (he`s worried but not worried enough.) and it seems that the media is more focused on the drug charges and that haleigh is slowly drifting into the cold case . Thanks alot nancy for keeping haleigh and casey alive. Your a wonderful person, because when no one cares you do and may god bless you and the twins. I hope that she will rest in peace soon. I know from looking at the pictures of her I know that God is having alot of fun.
