LE has been working hard, but in these parts, tough to find willing witnesses among drug dealers, crack houses and meth labs. Not like you’d march some genteel court reporter into a den of sex, drugs and rock and roll and request an official statement, as some outsiders seem to think possible. Come on, this is Deliverence country, and cops know how hard it is to win friends and informants, which explains why they’re open to hearing and following up on any leads a West Virginia country boy like Cobra might turn up…

It is entirely possible that the local law enforcement is also into drug trafficking, and they are protecting each other for that reason.
There is a lot of money in drugs. That is why the “war on drugs” isn’t going to work. Supply and demand. It is that simple. At least legalize marijuana so we will then know who is trafficking the hard stuff.
But I suspect this whole tangled web is about drugs, and money from drugs, and the police are not clean.
The reason no one is telling what happened to haleigh is that this case just happens to intersect with drug dealers.

SATSUMA, Fla. — – It may have been dumb luck that Crystal Sheffield’s father was driving along State Road 20 in Palatka early Monday afternoon. He says he spotted his daughter’s white SUV on the side of the road with a crowd of people around it. When he got out, he says he ran up to the vehicle and saw his daughter in the middle of a seizure.
Family friends tell us early Monday morning, Crystal called volunteers at the Haleigh Bug Foundation to tell them she was going to a local phone store to buy a landline for the foundation. Friends tell us she stopped at a local Burger King for lunch, then while driving along State Road 20, suffered a seizure and bumped the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of her.
Sheffield was taken by ambulance to the Putnam Community Medical Center along with her 11 month old daughter. Sheffield was admitted, hooked up to oxygen, and monitored. Her daughter was looked after, and was immediately released suffering no injuries.

Angela..you are doing a great job gathering all this info…I have felt from the start this had to do with drugs..I think Misty took care of the drug sales when Ron was working..that’s why he is sticking beside her..and that’s what she has on him…and probably Mama..thus the wedding..I was waiting to hear dueling Banjos in the background at the wedding!!!

Mand, when Caylee first was thought missing, one of the first things we heard was george was a former deputy.
Yet,in this case not once has LE, Neves or LE mentioned her job. In fact LE says little about anything. It is almost as if THEY are in hiding. Her behavior with Cobra is strange, another “deputy” running from a snake? Most of the snakes in this case walk upright. IMO
As far as Crystal Sheffield is concerned,I am sure her son will be returned to her soon. It may not be an ideal situation, but she seems tobe finally ‘growing up’. after her years of suppression with Ronald. I wish her well.

SJ..I could not agree with you more…the sheriff’s dept has said very little and I have wondered about that..and I have wondered why Ron was never charged yet arrested so many times??? Crystal was abused by Ron you can see it in the way she has conducted herself..at first she said nothing bad about him he was a good person..then when an attorney came on the scene and informed her of her rights and she felt he couldn’t get to her she started talking…and we find out Ron wasn’t such a great guy..this case has a lot more to it than we have heard and we do need to keep the pressure on>
I don’t think the FBI has been called in to help..and I’m pretty sure unless there is proof the child has been taken across state lines they have to be asked by local LE…I may be wrong but I think that’s the way it is.

I think you are confused. Oxycodone is referred to as “hillbilly heroin”. Check out the link.
Methamphetamine and heroin are totally opposite drugs.
Meth or crank or ice (and all the other street names) is an amphetamine or an upper just like cocaine, crack, ecstasy, etc.
Heroin is an opiate or a downer used for pain management. Morphine is synthetic heroin as is anything containing codeine.
I watch a lot of Intervention. They did a special once on Meth Mountain that SJ mentioned. The area I live is is rampant w/it. The county I live in is one of the highest rated for arrests in Indiana.
I believe Ron is a drug user-he may not be doing the illegal stuff but prescription drugs are just as bad.
I wish they would find that poor girl-she doesn’t deserve it-you are supposed to protect your children!

SJ-I know what you mean-we live in a very nice neighborhood-in the country, on a lake in an addition but all the lots are an acre or more-but right across the road from our house (not part of the addition) are acres of woods w/a house back a long lane. The sad thing about it is a cop lives on the property connected to it and he associates w/those people.

Friend’s crew went in ….(they knew who was doing the kidnapping)…. gathered up the folks and told them if another American was kidnapped/killed…they would kill them….their wives/husbands…their children….their brothers/sisters…their Mamas and Papas….their grandparents…their cousins…their aunts/uncles…..their cats….their dogs….their mules/burroes….their horses….they would burn their crops….their houses…their cars….their wagons/carts…..

Most of his charges were dropped..they found he served probation on one of the charges. Donald Lee Sapp – Registered Sex Offender
Possibly related in some way to Guy W. Sapp, Raymond Sapp, (which would make Donald related by marriage to Misty Croslin), and possibly related in some way to a Griffis (which could make Donald related by marriage as a maternal cousin to Haleigh Cummings).
From Putnam, at one time lived in the same town as Haleigh’s mother, Crystal, in Glenn Saint Mary, FL, has also lived in Mcclenny, FL, where some of Crystal’s family is from/living.
Registered Sex Offender, arrested on 6-12-1997 for lewd/lascivious assault on 14 yr old female, occuring in East Palatka. At the time he was already serving probation for a prev. charge of l/l assault on 13 yr old female runaway. In 2000 he was arrested for trying to set up a meeting with a 10 yr old female, on a sting with her father in an internet chatroom. Billye Lee Griffis had testified in Donald’s trial in the 1990′s. A Raymond Sapp contributed to bail in one of Donald’s cases, and Donald is mentioned in Raymond obituary in 2005. Donald was married and has four children, according to Raymond Sapp’s obituary.
Donald moved to 315 2nd Ave, Satsuma, (which is 3.6 miles from the Cummings home). In doing public records search, 315 2nd Ave. comes up as being owned by and having been the residence of Jeffrey Michael Griffis and Billye Lee (Wager?) Griffis. (see http://www1.putnam-fl.com/live/papage.asp?id=8132 ).
On 12-30-2008, Billye files a petition for injunction against domestic violence against Jeffrey, who is served a subpeona on 01-02-2009.
On 01-05-09, Jeffrey files a petition for injunction against domestic violence on behalf of his children against Donald Sapp. It was denied. Three days later Jeffrey was dead.
Jeffrey M. Griffis, age 29, was hit by a car on 1/7/2009 and died the next day. Benjamin D. Prewitt, 74, of Crescent City, was driving southbound on U.S. 17 on the Dunns Creek Bridge when he failed to see Griffis in the roadway. (He was standing in the road/freeway, was he suicidal? Local rumor has it that his wife Billye and Donald L. Sapp were carrying on.)
Donald Lee Sapp moved into Jeffrey and Billye’s home on 1/26/2009, a few weeks after Jeffrey’s death. Did Billye stay in the home or had she moved out?
A few weeks after Donald moved in, Haleigh disappeared. The two sex offenders living closest to Haleigh’s residence? Donald Sapp and one other one.

She is an adult now, a survivor, who keeps her sanity thru her writings and helping call attention to the horror visited upon so many children, at the hands of parents and step-parents. I think Crystal and the women in the Cummings/Griffis families are caught up in this same cycle. Crystal may have a chance to follow the path of Dreamcatcher,as there are people in place now to see she has an opportunity to further her education. We all know one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is education. My prayers are with Crystal and Haleigh.

In reading a news article about Crystal’s latest seizure, I discovered that Johnny Sheffield is a retired Putnam County deputy sheriff!
The new sheriff admitted he was intimidated by this case. He hadn’t been in office long before this was dropped in his lap. This is no time to be intimidated!

Thanks SJ : I know all the players in this case too :) Wolfman : Not only am I a Nurse But I also volunteered on my Ambulance squad for many years and put in many hours , Back east there is alot of Drug abuse and although I read a Blogger say she doesnt hear of it much , doesnt mean it doesnt exist on the same high level as it does down here , an example we had 35 calls in one week of OD’s of kids in the age range of 12 – 24 their drugs of choice were Huffing , Heroine , Crack and Oxy, Of these calls we lost 15 kids, an were able to save 20 of those we had repeat calls of the 20 , Unfortunately I can say with all honesty most of these kids came from very affluent parentage, they had the money , but what they didnt have was parents that were actively involved in there life , Their parents were too busy working and socializing in the Community. I can tell you from experience that I will never forget the Blood Curderling Cries I heard these parents Scream when they arrived on scene to learn their child was dead. …. It is Completely True that this New Sheriff Needs to Bring in the State or FBI if he is so overwhelmed by this case, and I do Believe the Cummings have the answers. I find it amazing that Ron himself and his lawyers stated that only he is represented and NOT his Child Bride Misty !
Let’s not forget : Ronald and Misty and the Children only moved in there 3 weeks before this incident !

SATSUMA, Fla.–He’s been called the mystery man who holds the key to unlocking the secrets of Misty (then Croslin), and the conflicting timelines she’s given in the days and hours before Haleigh Cummings, age 5, went missing from the trailer where the 17 year old babysitter claims they were sleeping. Then, amid rumors about Misty and her mystery man, she married Haleigh’s father, Ronald, 26–and the couple stopped talking publically.
His name is Gregory Page, 28, aka White Boy Greg, an aspiring, graphic designer and single father of two with big time dreams who has been plagued by drug arrests and stints in the county jail for possession.
So far, he’s kept his own counsel, aghast at talk show hosts begging him to call and jack up ratings, rants he blames for sending his mother to the ER with a stroke, and his five year old into a tantrum of tears, as his mug shot flashes across the TV screen in Palatka, Florida.
He’s spoken in depth to police about his time with Misty, investigators confirm, his mother, and an outside private eye and bounty hunter named William Staubs, who goes by the street name, Cobra.
“I’m light-complected, had a white father and my mother is black, so they call me ‘White Boy’ on the street,” Page tells me in his first media interview that can be heard exclusively on artharris.com.
In that interview, Page tells me he did have a “fling” with Misty the weekend before she reported Haleigh missing, but was not with her that Monday night.
“Only a fool would be at another man’s house, laying up with his girlfriend,” he tells me on in a phone call he agreed to let me tape. “It was a brief little fling, not like no love or anything, no relationship, (just) like ‘how ya doin.’”
“I was with the girl that weekend,” he says, describing a three day party of sex, cocaine, pot and pills. Only in the last two weeks did he learn about his public notoriety with Misty, “when a neighbor read your website and told my mother…I was startled….”
But Page adamantly denies he’s the mysterious “black man in black” with “squeaky” shoes who Haleigh’s, baby brother, Junior, age 4, reportedly told his mother, great grandmother, and police he’d seen in the trailer that night. According to the reports, Junior said the man had made the couch “bounce” and took his sister.
Page believes he was scapegoated over his drug arrests to divert attention from Misty and Ronald Cummings, where he believes the truth lies. Shortly after Haleigh vanished, Page says he sat down with Putnam County Detective John Merchant, the lead investigator, laid out the details, took a polygraph and was told he passed.
Sources close to the case confirm he’s not a suspect, and that Misty also told police they’d been together.
Says Page: “I wish I could tell you what happened. I’ve got two kids the same age (as Haleigh and Ronald, Jr.), but I don’t know. I feel real bad for the family.” And William Staubs, aka Cobra, says he’s talked to Page for hours, checked out his story, and is convinced he’s telling the truth about that weekend and any Haleigh connection.
Playing cupid that weekend: a Kristina Prevatt, 18, who everyone calls “Nay Nay.” She says she introduced Misty to Page. Soon everyone was eager to get the party started, say both Page and Prevatt, and soon everyone was high, including Misty.
“Cocaine?” I ask Page.
“Yeah, he says, “and pills, all kind of chit.”
“What kind of pills?”
“Roxies, and all that,” says Page.
“What are ‘roxies?’” I ask.
“It’s a breakthrough for Oxycontin,” Page explained. “I’m not going to lie to you, I do a little drugs, but I’m going to straighten up.”
After the news broke about Misty as the witness at the center of the missing child, Page’s mother, Lyn, tells me, “I asked (Greg), ‘Did you go to bed with that girl?’ And he said, he had, three times.’”
Page believes he was scapegoated over his drug arrests to divert attention from Misty and Ronald Cummings, where he believes the truth lies. Shortly after Haleigh vanished, Page says he sat down with Putnam County Detective John Merchant, the lead investigator, laid out the details, took a polygraph and was told he passed.

Their fated encounter began, as Prevatt tells artharris.com in an exclusive interview, when she took a frantic call from a distraught Misty who reported she’d just been in a terrible fight with Ronald. He’d exploded in rage when she informed him she was pregnant, says Nay Nay, who believes it was a ruse to pressure him.
“She showed me the pregnancy tests,” says Prevatt, “it was positive, but I think it was her sister’s. She was in love with Ronald and wanted him to marry her. She said she can’t leave him because she said he gives her what she wants.”
If Cummings did believe her, he wasn’t buying his role in paternity. “She said he kept calling her a ‘whore, that it wasn’t his baby, a ‘n— lover’ because she hangs out with me, and my baby Daddy is black….He dropped her off at her brother’s house, but kept her clothes. She ran down the road and called me and I picked her up.”

So it began, the wild weekend. But as Page’s mother clarifies and a reader confirms with traffic tickets, the teenagers were hanging out at least as early as Feb. 3, when Prevatt says they started cruising in her blue Lincoln, which clipped a truck at an intersection; Nay Nay kept driving. No one was hurt but she confirms she left the scene; the other driver called 911 and cops pulled her over.
By fate or coincidence, they wrote her ticket outside the house of Greg Page’s mother, Lyn, an Army reserve veteran and home health care worker who cares for his two toddlers and four other children.
It was hot, so Lyn invited Nay Nay, Misty and another friend inside, made small talk, asked if they knew her son, Greg, and whipped out family photos of the strapping, six footer with light skin.
“I’ve GOT to meet him,” gushed Misty. ‘I want to meet him.”
“She seemed very nice, very polite,” says Lyn in an exclusive interview with artharris.com and asked that her last name not be used.
Later that week, Wednesday or Thursday before Haleigh vanished, she recalls seeing her son riding around with the girls–Misty, Nay Nay and Amber Brooks, a Ronald Cummings “ex” he dated before Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield and who has custody of their son.
“Greg is a good looking young man,” says Page’s mother, “the girls like him.”
Page says he’d never met Misty until that Thursday, when she got a ride from Prevatt, an old Misty acquaintance who knew Ronald from Amber Brooks days. Greg said he didn’t know Ronald Cummings. “Me and Misty and Nay Nay were hanging out, doing drugs and partying, and she came back the next day and we hanged out.”
That weekend, Page says he cruised with the girls between Palatka and St. Augustine, where Amber Brooks tells artharris.com she had words with Misty for purportedly stealing her man and “trying to take my child.” They were pulled apart before it came to blows, says Prevatt.
Misty was trying to forget Ronald, says Prevatt. “Smoking weed, drinking, (taking) downers, roxies, snorting cocaine,” says Prevatt. “She’d turned her phone off and acted like she wasn’t even thinking of Ronald after she hooked up with Greg.”
But she couldn’t shake him. “She told me she loved him because he gave her what she wanted, and she wanted a baby.”
Several calls to Ronald’s family and to Misty’s were not returned.
But I recall dinner with Cummings about ten days ago, when Cobra pressed him over Misty cancelling a crime scene walk-through she’d promised to do, clear things up. Bringing up White Boy Greg, Cobra pushed a button; Ronald was still furious, if philosophical, about Misty hooking up with him. “So what if she (slept with)” a (black man), he said, using the racial epithet. “I still love her and one of my best friends is black.”
In our interview, Page says he last saw Misty about 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb, 8, and learned later she was going to visit her father, laid up in the hospital from a car accident, busted leg.
He says Misty called him, “said she wanted to hook up later.” But later never came. He says he called, but she never called back, and he didn’t reach out after Haleigh turned up missing. “I didn’t need the heat,” he says.
Meanwhile, Misty was apparently ambivalent about her breakup with Ronald, couldn’t shake his spell. “She told me she loved him because he gave her what she wanted, and she wanted a baby,” Prevatt told me.
By Sunday, the party was winding down.
“She said she wasn’t going back to Ronald, and said for me to drop her off at her brother’s house,” recalls Prevatt, “that she had to take care of the kids,” unclear if she meant her nephews or Haleigh and Junior. “I asked her, ‘You going to Ronald’s? But she didn’t answer, she was over in a corner talking quietly to him on the phone. They both kept talking and hanging up.”
Then Misty made a personal request. “She asked me if I had a condom,” says Prevatt. “She said Ronald asked her to bring one, but I didn’t have any.”
She’s not sure where Misty spent the night Sunday, and Monday morning, Haleigh was supposed to take the school bus. Often, Misty would walk the kids to the bus, sometimes in her pajamas. That’s what three sets of parents with children on the bus tell me.
Only on Monday morning, Jerry Santos, a neighbor at the bus stop with his children tells me Ronald raced by in his purple car with tinted windows, came inches away from hitting a pickup truck–and mowing him and kids down in the loading area. Inside, Santos could make out Haleigh. “My daughter was still scared that afternoon about how close he came, she couldn’t stop talking about it,” says Santos.
Other parents tell me Haleigh did not ride the bus that morning, raising questions about whether Misty spent the night elsewhere, and he had to scramble to get Haleigh to school on time. Whatever, Cummings turned into a speed demon, perhaps concerned another tardy arrival would put him in hot water with Haleigh’s school and the Department of Family Services.
But Haleigh did ride the bus home. Ronald has said he picked her up and took her home before he went to work, but two sets of parents tell me they saw Misty pull up in the blue van, and yell at the children to hurry as they piled in.
“It all comes back to Misty,” Cobra tells me, “and her timeline. No one knows what she was doing after she visited her Dad at the hospital Monday. Or whether she was even home that night (Monday). So many conflicts in her stories. She said she put blankets in the washing machine at 8 p.m. so why did police note the washing machine was running hours later? She said she went to the bathroom and called Ronald when she couldn’t find Haleigh, but Ronald was standing outside, supposedly just home from work.”
Then, early Feb. 10, Haleigh turned up missing and Misty didn’t answer her phone for several days, says her friend, Prevatt. Finally, she picked up. “She said, the FBI had had her phone. She said she couldn’t talk because the phones were tapped and hung up.”
That was the last time they spoke, she says.
“What do I think happened?” asks Prevatt. “I just know when she’s with the kids, I can’t hang out with her because Haleigh would tell Ronald Nay Nay was there and he’d get mad. I used to hang out when my friend, Amber, was with him, but not since Misty moved in. Ronald doesn’t like me, and to Misty, obviously Ronald is more important.”
Prevatt says Misty can be two-faced, “pretending she’s a friend, but now she won’t talk to me. Detectives told me she said I was a ‘lying slut.’ They wanted to know if I was there (at the trailer) that night or if she told me anything, but I wasn’t there and I don’t know what happened. I took a lie detector test and they told me I passed.
“Haleigh was cute, just like any other little kid. Misty said she felt like their Mom, but she wanted her own baby from Ronald…
“It’s all f’d up.”

I to had bad feeling for the two women involved in the beautiful childs life. Misty was always quite, and in and out of the family’s tent area. She seems to stay close to her family, even now. I hear now about this new guy, and I wondered myself. I thought she seems to quite and never talk about the night Haleigh went missing. I am afraid that may be she wasn’t home, or maybe someone gave her drugs and she couldn’t pay for them, so that someone took the child till she could pay. Then again I know the family said the weekend before the child went missing that Misty and Crystal’s cousin were hanging out all weekend.This cousin is the person whom introduced Misty to Ronald. So I thought maybe Crystal had her cousin get Misty to leave the home with her, and then Crystal or someone on Crystal’s side of the family came into the home and took Haleigh, hoping to get DCF to find Ronald unable to properly care for the childern ( just like she doing right now), and get the childern taken from the father. Why??????? maybe because she’d was shedule to appear in court on failure to pay her child support. She was looking at some jail time. However after the child went missing Crystal went to the Putnam county court house and asked that the hearing be postponed until after the child was found. this was filed approx 4-5 days after the child was gone. I find that ODD… The hearing was indeed postponed. The warrent was with drawn.
I heard the same things, the monies go to helping her and her young daughter stay in town. I don’t know how this is legal for her to do, cuz I know that when Jamie Watts( of Watts Funeral Home) set up an account to take donation for the father and young boy JR, The first account had to be closed and another opened due to Florida law stated that only those living in the home with the missing child (Haleigh Cummings)could be on the account. So Crystal’s name had to be removed cuz of the law. Also I know that law enforsement knew about the child support warrent, and the cousin of Crystal’s was hanging out with Misty, over the weekend that the mother Crystal had her visit w/ the childern. Now another quick note, I was at Ronald’s family tent early on when law enforsement stoped by asking for any key’s that was there for Ronald home. The grandmother handed over her copy, only to find out that the officer’s were mistake about which tent they were at. They believed that they were at the mother’s Crystal tent. And they stated the had gotten a tip the the mother (Crystal) had somehow gotten a key to the father (Ronald’s ) home. The grandmther told them that there were only 5 key made for the home. And that the mother should not have one. I never heard wether or not they found one on her. But they did later go get her figure prints and DNA.
He had requested the local oastor to marry him and her, but pastor Terry felt it was not the right time nor right way to do it. So the got married by a neighbor of Ronald’s great grandma’s whom was a notoriety. I had heard that Misty’s family had placed a gag order due to a the media questioning her, and that the were going to have her move to Michagan with family. I heard Misty told Ronald that , and said she didn’t what to go, I feel Ronald might have been worried that she might just up and disappear and he might never find Haleigh. I believe it was acause of, like they “KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE AND KEEP YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER” . Now her parents aren’t calling the shots. Look what was the frist think he and Misty did after getting married. “TODAY SHOW”. They actually flew to New York less that one hour after the got married. And if the rumors are true she had been cheating on him with another local guy, maybe she was looking for away out, maybe Misty and Crystal are in on it together. I feel Misty agreed to marry Ronald think it wouldn’t be able to testify against her. Saddly she is mistaken, cuz in Florida if a child is involed then that spouse protection thing doesn’t apply.
Cobra >>> Lord no way, I saw him and he’s such a joke. I believe he is in with Crystal’s attorney. Which I feel is why he is in town, that and to make a name for him self. He claim that Casey Anothy’s ex. (Jesse Grund’s) father sent him there,who is a pastor or something. And that drug dealers are footing the bill for all of his expenses. I know William Staubs, aka Cobra, was aressted for numerous counts, for his part in a local man that went to make a donation for Haleigh Bug Foundation.
Crystal’s recent auto accident >>> I did and the talk is it was due to oxcontin with draws, but according to Crystal’s attorney, she has been clean for years. However I did see on her myspace/ before her attorney and her myspace make over, Crystal talked about her “Mary Jane” 23 birthday party she had. So someone must have thier facts wrong. I wonder and believe it’s stanard practice that the Putnam County Hospital,draw blood after an accident.
Honestly I beleive she is fine. Both sides of the famlies seem to feel the same way. I hope someone who knows how much she is loved is caring for her. I find it odd the neither side has stated who or what did this, or like giving names or ideas. I also found it hard to believe it was random act. Because the grandmother of Ronald stated , Ronald and Misty had only lived in that trailor for 1 month and that Ronald had only been on the late shift for 2 weeks. Before that Ronald lived approx 1 1/2 away from the home, in another trailor own by the same landlord. And he switched to the late night shift because it paid alittle more. So only those close to the family would have known that.
One more note I saw a copy of a restraining order against Chad(Crystal’s stepbrother/fiancé ) it was for domestic violence against a child under the age of 12 I believe. I heard the Crystal had, had the childern for her schedule visitation Friday 6pm thur Sunday 6pm, and then Haleigh went missing, maybe something went wrong during that visitation time, and someone was afraid she might tell her daddy. Thats why JR wasn’t taking as well.
I do believe both Ronald’s mother and great grandmother are very sincere, I know that Ronald’s mother works for Lake county sheriff department, and has for a while. And she say that she felt who ever has anything to do with this should be locked away, no matter who it is. She also that included Misty. She also said that Crystal the Bio Mom, came to live with her at age 13/14. And it was because her mother and father threw her out. I know that both Crystal’s Mother and Father were aressted in Putnam County for numerous drug charges and drug traffic. The father was fired from law inforcement because of it. They later divorced. and then the Father married a young girl. She was around early 20,s and he in his late 40’s. They had a child shortly afterwards. So no wonder Crystal is a mess.
I spoke with a number of extented family members, on both Ronald and Misty and neighbors that came to the prayer vigils and all stated that they never seen or heard anything. One women the impressed me the most was a lady that owned a daycare center that Haleigh had gone to for along while. She say in all the time that she had Haleigh in her day care, she never saw any marks or notice her acting out in anyway. She said that Ronald or his great grandmother where the ones to pick her up and that Haleigh always ran to her father and gave him a big hug. That Ronald seem to really Love and took great care of her. She stated that she was always clean/ well dressed. Haleigh she said was always happy, however she did seem have health promblems, but when ever haleigh got ill at her daycare, Ronald would rush over to pick Haleigh up. I did find it odd that Crystal’sattorney said that Crystal never knew a any abuse until lately, when all the eye witness came forward. However I seen interviews that Crystal said she saw and and other family member saw Ronald abuse the kids. So which is it DID SHE or DID SHE NOT? I heard one of the witness is Amber the cousin of Crystal that Misty was hanging out with the weekend before Haleigh went missing.
I find it hard to beleive Ronald was involed , I believe if he knew who had his daughter or why she was taken I believe he would go to LE, no matter if it even meant Jail time for him or Misty. And I can’t honest believe that anyone local would have take this child to teach someone a lesson. They’d have to know they’ll be looking at life, for abducting a child and possible hurting her. Rather than jail time for drugs.
Also I have seen Ronald’s arrest record for drugs in the past.And agree he has had a drug problem. However I spoke to an co-worker of Ronald’s. He told me that Ronald under goes random drug testing for his job. He works on state contracts as a crane /heavy equipment operator. They have a state inspector that does random drug testing. These test are given monthly. The gentlemen stated they never know who or when they’ll be tested. He also stated that he has had drug testing from the courts. Ronald stated the he has been clean for years and that he has been tested through out his court battles for custody, and he has had custody since 2005.
I hope this was all about child custody or child support, rather than a random act. However they live in a very transient area,commonly know as a FISH CAMP. This area has alots of driffters, as well as snow birds. I so want to believe she is alive and well cared for. GOD SPEED HOME HALEIGH.
Unfortunately there is, I hate to say that, because to do live here. But this area has a lot of migrant worker, And over the year something know a black tar / and the meth lab are on the rise. We have a lot of farms and fernery. So this bring alot of shady people. They come and work the fields and aren’t the best of characters. Now thats not to say they all are. We have alot of illegal’s that work to help their family, and locals as well. And then the fisherman’s that come here to live on the rivers or island. The St John’s is the only river that flows north. Where Haleigh went missing. If someone took her out by boat, they could have gone North all the way to the ocean with her. Outside of Jacksonville Florida. Or taken her South all the way down to the Okeechobee Swap. Plus the St John has lots of allagator hunter’s that trap in early morning hours. Lord! I hope that isn’t the case.

are you sure you are not related to Ron I also know someone that lives in Palatka and from what I hear Ron is a druggie who gwts off all charges because of his mothers connection,also you say family members saw Haleigh and Jr. riding her bike outside a 7:30 what did Misty do toss her in the bed at 8 with no bath or anything on school night,dont know about you but myself when my kids were small it took more than 1/2 hr. to coax them in the house and bathe them..guess she went to bed dirty..If you look close at all interviews Ron and Misty are on the nod,obvious opiate use(OXYCONTIN)why does everyone want to bad mouth Crystal,im sure shes not perfect but I dont think Ron and Misty are either….

Misty was hanging out w/Crystal’s cousin? Who? Amber or Kristina? Crystal did not have the kids for visitation the weekend before Haleigh went missing-she stated on a show that the last time she saw Haleigh was 2 wks. prior to her disappearance and the Friday after Jr. went with Crystal for the scheduled visitation. There are many more inconsistencies but I’m too tired to mention them.

Residents worry about missing child, hope for the best

SATSUMA – Despite continuing support and concern for missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, some members of the Satsuma community are not afraid to ask the hard questions.
“Where are the priorities?” Jacob Brey, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church said recently. “It seems like the attentions been diverted off Haleigh. I think some people in our congregation are just not pleased with some of the antics of the individuals.”
As a retired police officer of 28 years, Brey, who lives in River Villas, said Haleigh’s disappearance has made people “more protective than ever.”
“The main thing I’ve seen is concern for the child, but it makes you think,” Brey said. “It takes away the freedom. It takes away the fact that you can’t just let your child go a couple blocks down and play ball without feeling like you have to have them in eyesight at all times.”
Other locals feel as if the situation has brought the community together.
“I feel like it has humbled Palatka, because nothing like this has ever happened,” Stacy Kriser, owner of Noah’s Ark Consignment Store, said. “We hear about it in other cities, but when it happens in our own county it makes us think and brings us back down to earth.”
Kriser said that many people who come in the store ask her about it.
“It definitely gets people talking,” Kriser said.
When asked what people were talking about, Kriser responded, “Nothing I can repeat.”
Paul White, 79, is a Putnam County native retired from Georgia-Pacific. He said the small town has received negative popularity since the incident began.
“I don’t mind the news people, I mean everybody’s got to do their job,” White said, “But there has been a big influx of people.”
White said the town’s positive reputation changed after authorities began releasing the number of sexual offenders who live in the area.
“Before, it seemed you had nothing but wholesome people,” White said. “It makes you wonder. Of course there are still many more good people than bad people.”
He can relate to what Haleigh’s family is experiencing, due to losing his own granddaughter in a fatal car accident years ago.
“I think law enforcement has done everything they can possibly do,” White said. “It’s just one of those terrible things.”
Kathie Kellie, a local foster mom, said the community has been very generous despite the family’s polarity, which has twisted Haleigh’s case in separate directions.
“Maybe they weren’t the parents of the year, but the community has overlooked that, and has extended out their hand in every which way,” Kellie said. “There’s so many questions about the family, and our community has said, ‘Yeah, maybe I don’t agree with that, but Haleigh needs us.’”
Haleigh Cummings was reported missing on Feb. 10 at 3:27 a.m. from her Satsuma home and no trace of her has been found.

I don’t hear too much about this case anymore- just when Nancy Grace has it on, but now I always come here to see what else you have found. You’re good at investigating- you should be a PI. I hope so Angela..this case is going cold fast..LE has not reported anything for sometime now..I was not aware that the FBI was on the case. This case like in Caylee’s..someone knows something and I think it’s Ron and Misty..not that they did anything to Haleigh but they have an idea as to what happened and who might be responsible..and since it’s more than likely drug related they fear for themselves and the rest of the family…JMO
Hi folks. I’m wondering about a couple of things. I believe Misty said she got up to go to the bathroom across the hall, didn’t get that far because the door was propped open and went back to the bedroom to notice Haleigh was gone. Why didn’t Misty notice Haleigh was gone on her way TO the bathroom? Her bed was practically right next to hers. Also, what was Misty wearing when Ronald got home? Was she wearing regular clothes or sleepwear? If she had just snuck back in before Ronald got there, would she have the presence of mind to change into pajamas?
Misty also said she put the kids to bed and was washing sheets and blankets, then made her bed. How did she make her bed if Junior was sleeping in it? I think she left that night, propped the door open, to get back in, and when she got home, Haleigh was gone. She’s too afraid to say that she was not there. Either someone kidnapped Haleigh when Misty was gone, or Haleigh woke up, afraid because she was alone, and went to look for Misty- from there I don’t know.
Hi Rebecca. Yeah, the story about washing the blankets is fishy too. I’m not sure why she would leave the door propped open, when should could have just left the door unlocked. Maybe she did it after she got home, to set the scene for her story. Either way, I firmly believe she was gone when Haleigh was taken.

I thought by now something would of come up with Haleigh. My opinion is that Ronald has nothing to do with this case, he just wants his daughter back. Misty knew Ron for 6 months and they got married. A 17 year old just starting her life marries someone with 2 kids. She really must love Ron. As far as Crystal goes. If she thought Ron was a bad father, she should of got a hold of DCF a long time ago. This is about a little girl. The Police in Satsuma has said the fouces is not on Haleigh the way that it should be. Crystal is a big trouble maker. Ron could be makeing a big deal about all the child support Crystal owns him, but he’s not. If I was the police I would really look into Crystal, not because of the child support but there is something about her that is not right.

According to Art Harris, Amber and Ronald’s son Jordan was born with a birth defect. Amber doesn’t want anything to do with Ronald and he doesn’t pay child support. Have also read that Amber’s mother or grandmother is the one actually raising the child.

The first 24 hours are always the most crucial in investigations. Valuable time was lost due to Misty’s somewhat hazy recollection of the events that night.
So, while all the infighting continues, a little girl is still missing. The more I see and read, I’m not sure anyone deserved her. Unfortunately, the trend nowadays seems to be to keep families together regardless of conditions in the home.

It is Quite Clear that Ron and Misty had a fight before this child went missing , due to her trying to TRAP him into thinking she was preggers, Because She wants his Baby , And The fact that Ron hasn’t paid any Child Support for his Infant son with Heart defects which can occur if one or both parents are doing drugs , it could be Genetic but it sure seems a little Flukey to me , As you are aware Misty did say that to Amber about stealing her man and possibly taking her baby too ! It also shows that Misty loved Ron so much that When she first saw a pic of Greg all 6ft of him she wanted to meet him and then hooked up with him and began a long Hot , Druggy & Sexfest , That clearly doesnt sound like a Girl IN LOVE with ONE MAN ? The Mere fact that he is half Black and her friend has a black child and that Ron suddenly hates this girl who is best friends with Ron’s Ex Amber Also Seems a Little Hokey to me , I too believe Greg was being completely Honest about him and Misty and their actions leading up to the night before litle Haleigh went missing , just my opinion , but Misty does not sound like a girl who is on the up an up … And Cerainly sounds like this marriage is only temporary until Haleighis found ..

I agree with you pcm, I think Ron did love his daughter, also Ron was working when Haligh went missing, so he had a job, don’t know about now, if that child had a birth defect, seems to me they would need all the help they could get, they could have garnihesed (wrong spelling) his paycheck, which would have been in the baby’s behalf, even if he did not want to have anything to do with the baby, he wouldn’t have gotten out of paying child support.
If Ron owns money for his son with Amber, I’m sure money is being taking out of his paycheck. I don’t see Ron’s lawyer’s going after Crystal for back child support payments. $4,100.00 is a lot of money in child support payments. All the pictures I have seen Haleigh in, she seems to be a happy child. In the state of florida if you own child support payments the cops can put you in jail take you driver’s lic. away until you pay the child support payments. I’m sure Ron has payed his payments. But, not Crystal. Why do you think she got a lawyer, she doesn’t what to pay Ron all that money. Like I said before if she thought Ron was such a bad father she should of gotten both kids a long time ago.
Anyone hear anything new about this case? I haven’t heard anything in days. Misty or Ron or Grandma were on tv all the time, since Ron and Misty got married I haven’t seen them on tv. If my child were missing, I would be on tv every day getting their picture out and pleading with whomever has her to bring her home.

What has happened to the family? It seems as I feared, this case has been swept under the rug, and the ones investigating, and the family are quietly fading away….Guess they could not risk the truth…
I know- it’s strange- we have not heard anything about this case in weeks. If Haleigh were alive, wouldn’t someone have come forward that they’ve seen her by now? Where are her parents? Why aren’t they on tv every night pleading for Haleigh to come home? If my child was missing- I would be on the tv shows constantly looking for my baby. I would not let the case get cold- which seems to be going on here.

Goldie My Thoughts exactly :) All He had to do was call , There is no doubt that his boss has children and would have bent over backwards for him , with that said if he doesnt even call him then eventually he is going to have to replace him . Now I found out Richard Grund is the one who asked the Cobra , Aka Bounty hunter to go up there and help them and it was Cobra who called the LAdy LAwyer and asked her after meeting both parents of Haleigh , if she would look into and help Haleigh’s BIO Mom , Apparently BIO MOM Never Sought out this Lawyer ! So It was Richard GRund Who DID the Initiation of that with a Genuine and Compassionate Heart :) If Ron & Misty are no Longer together I would not be Surprised !

I couldn’t imagine what this family is going through. Nix that, I don’t want to imagine what this beautiful little girl is or has gone through. I don’t want to hurt anyones feelings but it is obvious who here has ties to the family in question. Almost everyone here shares my opinion, I believe that there is more to this, I have read and watched all the reports and video interviews, every document that I can get my hands on. I live locally to the Cummings. He quit his job, he got married, he spent more than four hundred dollars on a tattoo and bought his new bride a ring(which she was more than happy to show off). SMILE FOR THE CAMERA!!!! If he hasn’t been working who do you think is paying for all this. To make this man out to be a saint is wicked insane. I cry when I watch the footage of all the drama, what is missing from the news is the most important part of the story. WHERE IS HALEIGH????? We are going to be suspisious of this because it is an incomplete story we are getting from the people closest to the case. Misty needs to talk and talk alot. There is no spousal privilage here in Florida if the case involves a child’s well being. But I’m guessing the newlyweds didn’t know that when they married which suggests that they know more than they are saying.

Forgot to post this earlier-2 men escaped from the co. jail in Putnam Co. Same county Haleigh lived/lives in. These guys have now been on the run almost 48 hrs. and one of them murdered his stepmother and stole her car. What is wrong w/LE? They should have been caught long ago! Now they are headed to Indiana-great-that’s where I live! Yikes!

Well, a lot has happened in my absence from here -
The party girls, Amber Brooks and Kristina (Nay Nay) Prevatt were arrested on 4/20 for attempting to take drugs into a detention center.
Kristina Prevatt had her bond revoked yesterday and is on 72 hr. suicide watch. She flipped out on Monday after seeing another woman with her child and tried to take the child.
Amber Brooks remains free on bond at this time.
Misty Croslin-Cummings has obtained an attorney.
Greg Page – Being threatened by some of the family after the interview he gave Art Harris. Money may have been offered by Lester Cummings to get Greg’s address.
Ronald Cummings gave prescription medication to Misty’s father, Hank Croslin. There is now an investigation into this matter.
Ronald Cummings and his attorney are meeting with the Task Force soon if it hasn’t already taken place.
Crystal Sheffield was taken to the hospital on Monday after suffering another seizure. She had a hatchet at the Haleigh Bug Center for protection against a man in black. The center is open 24 hours a day. Put a surveillance camera in!
At least one person in LE has lost his job.
But, the most important thing is that Haleigh may still be alive.
Art Harris has the most up to date information regarding this case. If you don’t hear from me for a while, it is because I’ve offered my services down south.
There is still no news on Haleigh. Only that Haleigh father Ron Cummings is now living in a different place. He doesn’t what to live in that trailer Somewhere in Putnam County

Haleigh Cummings family will be attending a candle light vigil held by the Never Lose Hope Foundation along with the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation. The vigil is going to be on May 17, 2009 between 7-8pm.

That’s nice, but where is this child already? I seriously doubt this was something random. No way… so why haven’t they got something yet? Why haven’t they found a way to make Misty spill what she ‘really’ knows?
From what I know of this case, its hard to say if she’s safe somewhere. I heard that Cobra beleived she may be, but then why no news?

FLASH—-P.I./Bondsman/Surety Agent William “Cobra” Staubs To Surrender To Police
Thursday, May 21, 2009 3:32 pm, Thursday, I received a telephone call from private investigator/bondsman/surety agent William Eugene “Cobra” Staubs. The man was obviously shaken.
Staubs told me he had been informed by an offical at the Putnam County Florida Sheriff’s Office that a warrant for his arrest would be on the teletype within the hour.
After a second or two of silence, I asked Staubs why on earth would he be wanted by the sheriff’s office. Staubs told me the that warrant was for false imprisonment.
I remembered that Staubs was accused of illegally detaining a Putnam County man who was free on bail on a sex abuse charge several weeks ago.
Last month, deputies say Staubs apprehended and handcuffed William Snodgrass, 55, who in 2007 was charged with capital sexual battery of a 9-year-old girl. Snodgrass was held for an hour, deputies added.
The allegation was being reviewed by local prosecutors until apparently now.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has not returned our calls.
Staubs told me he will be tuning himself in at the Putnam County Jail Friday at 9 am ET.
Staubs added that he plans to be out of jail within minutes of his surrender and will be attending the Blue Crab Festival in Palatka this weekend.

It’s almost like this little girl is off the face of the earth, nothing is being said. I thought they would of found her by now. This is so sad.
Well, here we are months later. Haleigh is still missing. Misty is unable to help put a decent timeline together. Ronald and Misty are living with Great Grandma Sykes. DCF may be investigating an incident involving Misty and Junior at the health dept. Crystal has moved back to Baker county and the Haleighbug center has been closed. Cobra was arrested and he and Kim Picazio seem to be at war. At least 2 lawsuits have been filed at this time.
Where is Haleigh? A child couldn’t have just vanished into thin air.

We won’t forget this child Snooks…I just pray that she is found and given a proper burial. It is heart breaking for all the parents out there that have never been able to know where their child is. To lose your child and then to not even know where they are…I can’t even come close to imagining what all of these parents are going through.
Savannah it is very upsetting to think that Haliegh is no longer with us, but I feel the same as you do, that she is dead.

Police are suggesting Misty was not home the night Haleigh was abducted. I have said this from day one. Misty’s story makes no sense and the reason why she can’t accurately depict what happened that night is because she wasn’t there.
She likes to party, so she probably snuck away after the kids went to sleep (she’s probably done it more than once). I believe she left the door unlocked so she could get back in before Ronald came home. Ronald stated he was the only one with a key to the trailer, so she had to leave the door unlocked. There was no evidence of forced entry, so whoever got in, did so fairly easily. I’m still not sure if Misty was directly involved in Haleigh’s abduction, but her negligence played a key part.

There are so many unanswered questions in this case..
I think Misty thought she had passed the polygraph she was first given by local LE…they never said to her if she had passed or failed so she believed the latter…thus why she asked Tim Miller to aid her to clear her name…she thought she pass this one also and be in the clear..thinking with Miller behind her local LE would back off…it backfired and she is now suspect more than ever. Misty knows who took Haleigh as does Ron..I still believe it was in retaliation for something Ron did/or did not do…but Misty is going to be the one charged…they will find some evidence and she is going to go down..
I have been wondering why Ron’s mom needs an attorney…and a high profile one like Mark Nejame??
This man does not come cheap…so where is she getting the money??? Is she hoping this will turn into a high profile case like KC Anthonys?? With some help it could be a money maker??? Or does she know her son could be involved in a way and she did not come forth with the info???
